I am man, hear me belch!

So I've never really been the 'handyman' sort. However, my drier has been running like crap since I moved in to my new place, it would litterally take about 4-5 full drying cycles for it to actually dry my clothes. When this first happened I checked my lint trap and it was way over full, so I cleaned it out and tried again, figuring the people who lived here before me hadn't done it in a while. This was obviously not the case. Instead of calling someone who knew what the fuck tehy were doing, I decided to try and fix it myself. I pulled it out, unplugged it, and faced the back. There were about 16 bolts holding the backplate on, so I broke out my socket and wratchet set and pulled 'em all off. Sad to say, it didn't help much. Metal tubes running across it, some wired, and a bulb. I pulled out the bulb and it had a little cage around it, filled with lint. I pulled out the lint and it was blackened from being against the incandecent bulb. That made me feel good and safe. But, I got it cleaned off. There was this one big black rectangular metal shaft leading to the lint trap. Aaginst my better judgement, I decided to see if I could pull that thing apart. Well, it turns out I can. 8 more bolts later, and the damn thing wouldn't budge. Finally I figured out there were two screwes under the lint trap holding it there. Some WD-40 and a good deal of cursing and the rusty metal shrieked, and somehow I avoided stripping the things. Finally the metal ting fell away. Turns out it was totally packed full of compacted lint. I cleaned it out, put it all back together, and with one cycle my work clotehs came out well. I rewarded myself with a couple of pork chops in a smoked applesauce demiglace, creamed corn, and a jog around the park next door.
