Following after Victoria, Rosalind had her own camera grasped in her hands. It felt good to be on the field again, to be on a mission. Even though this one only involved taking pictures and nothing all that exciting. But supposedly, the Northern Crater was dangerous, that's what she had heard...about Elena and Tseng. She sighed at the thought of her younger sister. She hadn't seen the other this whole time she had been back. It was funny too, seeing as they both work at the same place. But they hadn't been sent on a mission together yet, so there was still the bitterness between the two. Her thoughts were interrupted by her partner speaking.

"Did you see what Reno said when Rufus said we were supposed to come here? That thing about 'what, you're sending the girls?' What's with that?"She rolled her eyes, her usual reaction when Reno was mentioned. "He's just being immature...as always." But an immature bastard at that. She sighed, knowing she was going to have to put up with him once more being back with the Turks, but it was amusing ( ... )

Victoria laughed at Rosalind's response to the "weird-stuff hunting" comment. Typical, she thought. Rosalind was a good friend and a capable and reliable partner, but the woman wouldn't know how to have fun with things if somebody gave her a manual.

Victoria, on the other hand, might write the manual.

"I'm not really sure what we're supposed to find here, either," she replied. "I hope we find something, though. It would be really sad if we came here for nothing." From all she had heard, there was something in this place that was weird, or dangerous, or both. And it would just be a waste of a trip if they didn't find whatever it was. Right now, though, all she could see was canyon and more canyon. She skittered over some rocks, motioning for her partner to follow.

"Come on, let's try this way."

ZOMG CRYSTAL CHUNKS *IS SHOT FOR STUPIDNESS* butseriouslyno January 2 2009, 05:26:12 UTC
She nodded at that, it would be a waste of time if they came all the way out here for no reason. But then, she did trust her superiors, and knew they wouldn't send them out here for no reason. Of course, if there was nothing here, she would have rather spent her time in her office doing paperwork then being on a pointless mission. She gave another nod to Victoria, following after her through the misty canyon. It was drafty and cold, and she wished she'd worn at least a heavy coat or something, more then her usual suit jacket that she had on. The ice on the walls wasn't helping anything either, it only made her more cold just looking at them. She began to take notice of glittering chunks of...something. And it wasn't ice ( ... )

"Er, yeah, I think they're pretty weird." Not that she was overly familiar with the layout of the Northern Crater, but those did seem kind of strange. Not exactly dangerous, but one out of two wasn't too bad. She moved to get a different angle on the scene and snapped another couple of shots, then zoomed in for a better view.

"Whoa!" she jumped backward, stared of into the distance, then lifted the zoomed camera back up to her eye. "What the..." She looked at her partner, and gestured toward a particular large crystal in the distance. "There's something in that one. It looks like..." She peered through the magnifying lens of the camera again. "...a person."

Sephiroth found it very easy to discover with his telepathic ability that both Remnants were now also in the direct vicinity. At least they were able to follow his voice in their heads directly to where he was, if that were capable then maybe all was not lost. His role of puppet master could perhaps be used just as before ( ... )

Kadaj blinked. How could they not know of Mother? He wasn't sure how to explain it. Maybe they didn't have one. The other questions, however. He could explain ( ... )

He waited patiently, slowly stepping away from the darkness and closer to the group, each step, seemed soundless, as if he was not walking at all. His eyes fixed on them all, staring, looking to see if anything were to happen. Of course, none of them seemed to have noticed his presence, at least the two females. The white haired male didn't seem to pay much heed to his intrusion, or didn't care. Either way, it didn't matter. HE wasn't here to help these females, anyhow ( ... )

The crystal was cold to the touch. So cold that if Kadaj had bare hands it would have been likely that his skin would have frozen to it. With hands pressed against the crystal there was a series of small tremors felt, a constant and strong heartbeat which must have originated from the man inside there.

As hands traced down the naturally occurring ridges in the crystal the Remnant's palms seemed to make the surface warmer, and within a couple of seconds the crystal directly underneath Kadaj's hands became more like liquid. Ooze-y with a thick texture, Mako in it's final stages before being condensed down into Materia (oc: if anyone would be in the know). However there was no give to it, it was not possible to push his hands any further into the crystalline form than a couple of inches. Like any cocoon protecting it's host. The question being the line between protection and imprisonment ( ... )
