Hazel eyes blinked furiously to refocus in the dark room. She would have been red with embarrassment if the blood hadn't rushed out of her face. Elena could have dealt with Sephiroth - she had dealt with him and knocked him on his ass, giving her time to escape. But Yazoo wasn't injured, wasn't caught off guard. He was faster and more agile than she was, and the bastard could move in narrow areas.

Pushing herself up onto her feet, her body rolled back a few steps to keep a healthy distance between the point of his gunblade and any part of her body. This time the reaction of seeing him wasn't as bad. Scars burned a little less painfully - or were at least dampened by the rush of adrenaline in her system - and the images flashed a little less brightly. But the chills were the same, coursing from the tip of her toes to the crown of her head, each hair on her body electrified.

"Ghosts haunt this place and I, for one, don't like to bother the spirts trapped here," she replied. The look in his eyes, staring her down the top of his blade, left little room for conversation. Shifting, she took another step to the side, as if to grant him access to go past her into the laboratory and look for himself.

"How should I know? He's bound to be around here somewhere, recovering from the massacre upstairs."

If she could have given a more truthful answer without giving away any information, Elena probably would have. And then, once the opportunity gave itself, did a little victory dance. For a Turk, deception and lying - or at least giving little to no information while making it seem like you were - were tricks of the trade. A trick that Elena struggled with. And, for once, the trick able to be used with the level of mastery that this situation required.

"Why don't you go and take a peek at the mako reactor in the mountains? That'd be the first place I'd look."

There was nothing but darkness around them of course, he could see pretty okay, though he had his own possible trips over the damn corpses and such things like that. At the moment, he wasn't about to ungracefully fall. He was watching his steps as he approached her. He kept a cold look on his face as he took a step forward when she pushed herself back with her feet. He wasn't going to give her any room to escape, the gunblade became a dangerous weapon between her flesh and him.

He stopped moving, for certain she wasn't going to try anything just yet, but he was prepared for it if she did. The mention of spirits and ghosts didn't seem to bother him at all. In fact, they were nothing to him. He wasn't afraid of such things. There were more important things to be worried about than spirits and ghosts that haunt a place like this, "Let them be bothered, they can't do much," he mused towards her. He was still awaiting her answer. He was losing his patience with her.

The massacre, upstairs? Did it mean the smell of corpse and rotting flesh were Sephiroth's doing? That sounded like him, he seemed almost amused by it even more, "Really?" he wasn't about to buy her story just yet. When she said that, he couldn't help but want to go there, but no, he wasn't going alone. He wasn't about to let her go, not right now. He stepped forward once more.

"Take me to Sephiroth-nii-san, then," he mused towards her. If she refused, he would have to be a little less delicate than he already was. That wasn't a request, but a demand for Elena to take him to Sephiroth. If she was telling the truth, he would have to have her there to confirm it. He wasn't going to walk in there without her.

Elena's jaw tightened, teeth gritting painfully against each other. He was purposefully trying to get too close, pushing her backwards into the library behind her. Really, was her luck this bad? Turks were supposed to be lucky. Some a little too lucky for their own good. Man, what she wouldn't give to have a little bit of Reno's luck right now.

"That's bad joo-joo, you know," she returned, taking a step back in match with his step towards her. "Piss off the spirits and they won't give you their blessing."

It was just one Remnant. One little, silly Remnant who she could handle, right? Why was she wasting her time here, chatting it up with her mortal enemy? Waiting for Sephiroth - who could, if he had the energy - join the little party and thus make her shit pile up past her waist?

"What? You think you'd walk away from it without so much as a scratch?" Don’t say 'yes', you pretentious pompous little prick.

Again, she stepped backwards, another foot closer to the library.

"You make it sound like I know where he is." She brushed a hand through her hair as nonchalant as she could manage before allowing her face to go serious, eyes hardening with a steel resolve. "Go sit and spin, Remnant, I'm not helping you."

You're a bad influence, Reno. A bad, bad influence.

((OOC: Yazoo-mun has Laney-control-powers if necessary for the bitchslap repercussions for her lack of assistance))

Yazoo's steps did not stop. The remnant gave no silent defeat. She seemed to be here for a reason, and he was certain it might have something to do with the corpse and Sephiroth. There wasn't any way he was going to go and let her leave so easily. He merely sneered at her comments. Spirits, ghosts, he couldn't care less.

"And if I don't care?" he mused raising his tone just a bit, as he stepped towards her even more. They were moving towards the library. What was this woman planning? There must be something up her sleeve. He was going to figure out what for certain, though. He narrowed his eyes when she questioned him, "If It wasn't a trap," which he assumed would have happened to Sephiroth, because from his own knowledge Sephiroth wasn't easily to damage. There must have been a plan, a ploy of sort to get him injured. He was going to make sure she took him to Sephiroth and if she didn't he wasn't going to let her leave, unscathed.

He stepped another step forward towards her as she stepped towards the library even more. She's lying, from what he knew. Turks like her weren't here for no reason. Especially her. She must have business here, even if she wasn't involved in the fight with Sephiroth she was here for something.

"Then what business have you here? Sephiroth-nii-san and I were here, alone," he was dismissive of the corpse, "And you're here, there must be some reason," he had a rather mocking smirk on his face as she added that last part, testing the last of his patience, "I wasn't asking," he almost hissed towards her as he moved quickly in for a strike at her gut with his long knee.

Telling her to do so isn't doing him shit, so he would result to this, and well enjoying every minute of it?

OOC: Lol He'll start soft lmao xDD; not really but yeah. Will do and I'll give her time to react too, since it would be fun to have Laney fight back before she's defeatedxDDD

This was bad. Really, really bad. Nearly back in the laboratory library and moving closer, Elena was running out of both time and room. Of course, the library did give her more options, like using books as projectile weapons to catch him off guard, and a little more wiggle room. But there would be no way to deafen the noise of a fight and Sephiroth would hear. It was already an unfair fight, there was no need to make a bad situation worse.

Her shoulders gave a little shrug, head tilting to the side just slightly. "Then the bad joo-joo is on you," she replied with a hint of accusation. "I don't know if what happened upstairs was a trap. That many dead, I'd say not."

Reeve was a smart man. He'd been with ShinRa for years, knew how both father and son operated. And with his experience working alongside - though not really alongside - Tseng and the Turks, one would think he'd learned a few of the tricks. Or, at the very least, some basic operational procedures. She chalk the massacre upstairs to the fact that it was Sephiroth and the WRO soldiers probably had no idea what they were up against. It was a pity so many had to die. She'd have to berate Reeve a little next time she saw him.

And there was her cue that things were about to heat up. Really, he was almost predictable when it came to something he was looking for. Short chat to feel out the situation, then get straight to the point. Where is x? It'’s as if he didn't learn from the last time he dealt with the Turks. "My company, my building, my business. You and Sephiroth are trespassing on private property."

"Keh."

It was more of a noise, escaping from the corner of her upturned lips at the recognition of the incoming attack. It was the shift of his body, the near invisible movement of the weight to the back foot to propel forward, that was the give-away. But despite her slight foresight, he was still fast. She had just seconds to shift to the inside of his approaching knee with a half-turn. Her own feet shifted, planting down firmly as her upper body shifted away from him, her left arm tightening, fist clenching before being supported by her right hand, and aiming. Once he was in range, her right arm pushed forward, thrusting her left elbow towards the hollow of his throat.

((ooc: Oh my!! Laney ain't foolin' around! XD Left ya room to react/dodge/cause some damage. Feel free to rough her up a bit. She's been mean to his big bro!))

AS for the comment about the ghosts and the haunting and what not, the remnant could care less. He ignored the comment on that and waited for the answer from her. There was no need to speak of such things. If he didn't see it, he had no reason to fear it or find it a nuisance in his way. Whatever the case, trap or not, he was certain that there was something going on, especially when he was sidestepping over corpse on his way here. Precisely there should be more where Sephiroth was. Well, he had to get there soon, at least before there was anymore interferences.

"Is that so?" he mused in an almost mocking manner. It was always, that company, huh? He found that company a bad taste in his mouth and a problem in his way. If it weren't for them, they would have achieved their goals sooner than this. Now they were still writhing for it. IT was almost sickening to think about.

His struck miss her, barely, but he was prepared for her own attack as he missed. As soon as he was close enough to her, he could see her arm pushed forward, her elbow going for his throat. He brought both his hands up, while in a slight stance to stop her elbow in its track. He used his arms to tightly grasp the elbow that she sent at him and pulled her forward with that, sending his knee once more for another kick, hopefully this one would make it. She was in close range.

Though holding onto someone's elbow with a free arm and an armed arm, was a bit difficult, even for him. He would have to let go eventually.

OOC: nope she's not. >< That would hurt xDD; and yea he's going to do just that.

Time moved fast, then moved slow, then seemed completely frozen as her elbow inched closer and closer to its target. Of course, it was difficult to be completely focused, what with the burned images and sounds resounding in her head. Really, darling, we must stop meeting like this. Darling? Ugh. As if there aspect of him or his brothers that was near and dear to her heart. Well, save the scars. And they were only 'near' her heart because they placed them there.

Another searing memory flashed - she was being held down, as she still had the capacity to fight and kick still, while Loz had his fun turning her into his own personal punching bag. Yazoo watched with silent impatience - Loz wasn't hurting her fast enough. Now she's staring down the point of his gunblade, eyes betraying her by exposing her fear as the blade snakes down from her jaw to her neck, the sound of cloth ripping audible in the silence that dominated the room. A flick of his wrist and the pain is sharp, the blood slow to respond before oozing between sliced flesh, and throbs from end to end. She didn't cry out that time, she’d been biting her lip to hold it back. It took about fifteen more slices, ranging in depth and length, before she gave in and screamed.

Time moved in the reverse now, moving from being frozen to slow. She’d missed. Well, not necessarily. Elena's elbow was right on target; there was no deviation and if she'd been just a bit faster it would have connected. But his hands caught her, gripping the meat of her elbow before it got to close. And it was at that exact moment, when his fingers curled around her bones, that time moved into overtime. Before her brain processed that she was caught in his trap his knee was pressed against her middle and pushing still, forcing the air out of her lungs.

Blood dribbled from the corner of her mouth, pushed out by the force of his knee. Really, she should have known better to keep her distance. But, then again, in a cave this small, distance was a luxury. Hell, getting away unscathed would have been a damn luxury. Which left Elena with the decision on whether to continue to fight, and thus cause herself more pain and harm than necessary, or allow him the small victory.

"Uuunnnggh..." Her decision was easy, given the circumstances. Going limp, her body curled over the arch of his knee, falling forward against his thigh before starting to sink to the floor. I abso-fucking-lutely hate you...

The remnant watched in amusement at her writhing pain. More would come if she continued to defy and not answer, or at least comply to his demands. Of course, she was by herself right now. There was no way she would be able to do much more than defend herself. Since he was aware of who she was this time, it was a lot easier. He wasn't left in the dark, and he wasn't made fun of. Surely, she would pay for it all. Right now, however he wanted her to take him to Sephiroth. That assured him she was unable to go get help outside. The male smirked as he bent on his knee to lower himself a bit down.

Grabbing her by the collar of her shirt, he brought her form up to him, facing him, and having her a few feet off the ground. He hoped she wasn't going to try anything, since he clearly had the upper hand. If she did continue to fight, well, he would have to do more than knee her. Perhaps, teach her a lesson about defying his demands right now. The male parted his lips to speak to this time, and his words were the same as the last time. They were telling her to lead. Will she do it this time, or will she attempt to injure him in other ways? Either way he had to keep a good eye on this woman.

"I know you know where, take me to Sephiroth-nii-san," he mused, icily. His liquid green hues were serious enough to tell her there was another coming for her. Though, he hated this woman, probably as much as she hated him, maybe a bit less, the remnant wasn't going to kill her yet. She had her uses, she just needed to place them in the right position.

Pain was good. Pain meant you were alive, even if only just a little bit. Oh, but with pain came increadible suffering and, oddly enough, an eruption of heat. It spread across her middle, where his knee had made contact, and blossomed out to her chest and thighs, around her stomach to the small of her back. Her world shifted, rotated as she sank to her knees first. She had expected to feel the cool, damp earth beneath her cheek soon, but instead she was being lifted upward by the collar.

Although futile, she circled his wrist with her hands, using her weight as counterbalance to keep herself from choking by her own shirt. Her legs dangled beneath her, the ground several more inches below. As she stared down the thin, muscled arm of the Remnant, she shot back a heated glare that was indeniably furious and pained.

"I...already told you. He's here somewhere. I don't know where."

"Should I beat it out of you then?" he mused his eyes dangerously glowing again. A final warning. He wasn't afraid to her hurt her anymore than she was afraid of him.

The male was becoming impatient. He didn't intend to hurt her too much because he needed her to move, but now, it seemed like a good idea to just beat the resistance out of her. The male's grip tightened on he form as she tried to move and clearly, she could do little right now. If she did kick him again, he would make sure she would not do it a third time. He didn't believe a word she was saying. He wanted to get to Sephiroth and fast, and the woman was making it irritating.

No matter, if he could not find Sephiroth with her help, he would eventually just go with her dragging behind him. Again, he had no intentions of letting her go. If she left, she would have brought reinforcements, and reinforcements were not good, especially when he was outnumbered in most fights against those Turks. He didn't need anymore than he could handle, though he could handle quite a few.

Should I beat it out of you then? Her body tightened, muscles going into a spasm in hopes to turn in on itself and away from his menacing gaze and warning words. Elena pushed back the images from before, forcing herself to remain in the present moment.

"It didn't work last time," she choked out, the pressure of her collar increasing around her neck.

It was a stupid reponse perhaps, but truthful nonetheless. Whether he rememebered or not, the phrase still held their importance. He could beat her until she was unconcious or even dead. But she wouldn't give up a word.

"Why don't you use your super-Sephiroth-remnant-skills and find him yourself?"

"Really?" he almost seemed to sport and amused look on his face, "I recall the fear in your eyes, and the pained screams," he stopped, looking off towards the direction. He would go there.

That seemed to be smart. She wasn't going to comply obviously, but he wasn't going to let her go so easily either, "Perhaps...I should find your partner?" he added with a dark tone. He would surely do that if he had any desire to. Right now, it was more important to worry about Sephiroth, the man who supposedly knew a lot more than he did.

He made no comment to that as he started to walk again, this time towards the direction of where Sephiroth was, but that didn't stop him from letting the girl down and restraining her arms from behind with his weaponless arm and shoving her forward with the butt of his gunblade. She was not going anywhere. She was going to stay in his view and that was all there was to it. At least right now. He hoped he wasn't taking too much time. The woman was stubborn as always, and will never change.

It was getting annoying to even converse with her. Much less not break her limbs. Oh how he disliked this woman.

Elena couldn't supress the shudder, her hands losening around his wrists. All this time she had thought his memories were faltered. He hadn't remembered her upon their first meeting, so she hadn't given it a thought that he might have regained them during the time from their last encounter. But it was more than apparent that he remembered now.

"I..."

That was a low blow. She knew it and he knew it. And, Shiva help it, it was the last straw that broke her resistance. It was one thing to threaten her, to attack and hurt her, but the thought of him hurting Tseng again...

She didn't put up a fight any longer, letting him pin her arms behind her and push her back into the laboratory. Her mouth pursed into an angry and frustrated scowl, eyes focused on the floor in front of her. This was humiliating. She wanted nothing more than to turn around and beat him until he was nothing more than a pile of flesh, bone and blood on the floor that needed to be mopped up. But with herself outnumbered and overpowered, she had to do what was best for her and her situation. And, if that meant being forced back underground until she could call in for reinforcements, so be it.

Oh, but how she hated him. Hated him with every fiber of her being.

Having waited a pace away from the door, Sephiroth was not surprised at all to see Yazoo herd the Turk back into the basement rooms. His eyes were narrowed dangerously despite that it appeared he was still clutching where Elena had punched him moments earlier.

All bloodied ripped leather and flesh Sephiroth approached the Turk once more as she stood silently with her eyes on the floor. He allowed a split second for her to perhaps register that he was back on his feet and not exactly pleased before he swung a vicious backhand right for her face with enough strength to force her down and to one side. Anger gives even the weakened strength it seems.

"Don't do that again. I promise you the next one will take your head off" Sephiroth spat down at Elena after she had finished moving with the momentum of his strike. He side-glanced at Yazoo and offered a small smile hoping to get across to him that all the injuries were not as bad as they look.

So how far would they have to go before they came across Sephiroth? A few feet? A few yards? And what would happen when Yazoo found Sephiroth, saw the damag she had done? Would he break her arms behind her back or stab and slice her with his gunblade?

Things stopped, the grey of the laboratory floor sparce of anything but dust and grim. That is, until a pair of leather boots came into her field of vision. And, feeling the tight grip of Yazoo's hand behind her, it could only mean one thing. Oh....fuck...

Her eyes lifted first, moving up ripped leather legs, over a familiar bare chest riddled with scars and wounds, to a very-very-very angry Sephiroth. She had less than half a second before there was an explosion of pain erupting on the right side of her face. Her body reeled and if Yazoo had not been holding her upright she would have fallen to the floor. The bitter taste of blood filled her mouth, spilling out the corner of her mouth. She was more than sure that, by the way her cheek burned and seared with heat, that it would turn a painful shade of red before bruising.

Spitting out the extra blood in her mouth, Elena winced. Even moving the muscles of her mouth, forcing the skin of her cheek to tighten, hurt. Oh yeah, her day was just getting better and better. After her head stopped reeling, Elena straighened her back, nearly falling back against Yazoo.

"Don't do me any favors..." she muttered under her breath.

At least he shut her mouth with his words. She seemingly had given up struggle this time. It was better than expected, her response. It seemed herpartner was very importnat to her. He still would promise that Elena's partner would be okay even if she did comply.

Upon reaching the room after a long stroll, he caught the glimpse of Sephiroth approaching the two of them, ripped clothes and various of injuries lined his body. They seemed rather horrible. AT least enough for him to slightly narrow his eyes. The thing he was didn't expect coming was when there was a loud sound and Elena was backhanded by the taller man almost making him lose hold of her when she smacked. It must pretty much hurt. Though, he didn't seem to care.

Though, he did question silently what had happened. So, this woman was with Sephiroth before she was running for her life. Well, great, at least now she had nowhere to run. He tightened the grip on her arms, out of a bit of anger, that started to boil, but he did slowly calm down as Sephiroth sent his silent message.

He shoved her forward almost towards the ground as she almost fell against his form. He would surely hope she was trying anything any day soon. Hell, if she did, it wouldn't be pleasant either. He parted his lips to question Sephiroth on his injuries, plus the question to what she did to him that caused the male to become so angered or a moment.

"What has happened, and what did this woman do to you brother?" he mused, his eyes faintly glowing.
