Summary: Reeve is brought back from the brink of death to face a freakishly paternal madman, an equally freakish bout of child staring and of course, his old Shinra pals...
The man's body had laid prone, unmoving for nearly a day, hands curled up by his sides. Stripped of his usual blue and greys to naked flesh marked with dark strips of congealed blood spanning from a deep, vicious laceration and penetration of a foreign object, since removed. Marks of vulnerability, of the human form mostly untouched by Mako and having been pushed to critical.
And then over an agonising number of hours Reeve twitched and convulsed, as a semiconscious state approached. No actual reality was afforded just then, instead his mind was beset by images that poured from memory to make sense of physical pain.
Confusion and separation as two brown leather boots suddenly held the weight and posture of something now becoming more than the sum of its parts, the grief of sacrifice soon to be doublefold. The yellow soaked madness of death replayed a thousand times to an endless soundtrack of mild expressions of shock.
Apprehension and awe as a sky of bright electric blue-white is pierced by a red tinged arc as his hands cross his chest; of faith in a friend. A name choked from his lips then into the watchful eyes of a man standing over him as the memories got nearer, quicker, harsher until Vincent was fighting once more. This time faith vanishes to searing, intense pain and a small voice cried out in mind 'Och! Twere Reeve wearin' Reeve this time...'
Then blackness.
And a ball of fire in the sky over Midgar; the dark, an eclipse of utter devastation. The dark piercing into his chest like the shrapnel that actually caused this fragile physical state, crushing his ability to dream, to feel so deeply. Going to move forwards in urgency, an attempt to save those many who had yet to be evacuated, an agony ripped through him as a firm steady grip was felt upon his shoulder, to hold him back from folly.
Another name fell from blood crusted lips then as Reeve opened his eyes, and blinked into the light.
[[ooc: sorry it took so long Crim and apologies for the crappiness ^^ I'm still busy ;_;]]
