Parking her small motorcycle at the side of the inn, Cissnei gave a small grateful sigh. Having finally made it to a town was the best thing that could have happened to her. She had wasted several years just wandering around from place to place, searching for some form of redemption. She was a Turk, and therefore played a large hand in some of ShinRa’s many misguided, harmful deeds ( ... )

Rude returned the smile. He was grateful that she seemed happy to see him--it had occurred to him only a moment after he had spoken that she might have taken his appearance as a possible threat. People didn't tend to just leave the Turks, and she might not want to be found. But then, things weren't quite what they used to be. He doubted she would be in any danger, even if her whereabouts were known.

"Looking for some cat-like thing," he replied. His tone likely conveyed a little of his current frustration with that assignment. "I don't suppose you've seen one?" The question was hopeful, though even if she did know anything about it, it would just be something to think about later. He had other things to talk about with an old friend.

Cissnei let out a low uncharacteristically girly giggle. A cat like-thing? “You have to be more specific than that,” she replied with a small shake of her head, “I’ve seen lots of cat-like things.” She took a few steps forward, attempting to close the gap between them. When she was close enough, she crossed her arms over her chest and looked up at him, trying to meet his shaded gaze. “But, I probably haven’t seen the one you’re looking for.”

She was relieved that this meeting was accidental and not planned. A meeting between old friends should never be complicated, something Cissnei had always naively believed. Fortunately in this case, complication hadn’t arisen yet and she aimed to keep it that way.

Pausing briefly to hang her head low, the grassy terrain seemingly a lot more interesting now, she attempted to break eye contact before speaking again. “You always did get the weirdest assignments,” She spoke softly. She felt a little awkward, reminiscing on past events that no longer belonged to her.

Rude shrugged slightly, meeting her gaze as much as one ever did with sunglasses before looking away again.

"Did I?" he asked lightly. He wouldn't argue that he'd had his share of weird assignments, but were they any weirder than anyone else's? Maybe, he decided with a vague shrug. He pulled out his cell phone and loaded up the photo of Red XIII, then showed it to her. "Something that looks like him, if I'm lucky," he clarified. He gave her a moment to look at the picture, then put the phone back away. "It'll keep for a few minutes. How have you been?"

From the look of her, it seemed like she was well, which was nice to see. He was curious what she'd been doing with herself in the time that had passed, though, other than generally keeping herself off of ShinRa's radar.
