Summary: The Ashikiras go monster hunting, only to find someone has beaten them to it.
The hound wasn't hard to track. Kira had injured it a little back in Edge, and its uneven journey across the desert was easy to track. The scuffed dirt and occasional patch of blood were leading her and San straight to its den, and perhaps the rest of the pack. If they could end the problem here, she could sleep just a little easier...
Finally, she caught sight of it again. She glanced back at San, nodding at the cave it had disappeared into, then reached for her weapon again. The place looked too small to hold more than a small pack of the monsters, but anything would help Edge's situation.
Weapon at the ready, she made her way up to the cave mouth. Already the monster was growling, but she couldn't see it... it had to be deeper in the cave.
"Here we go," she murmured to San before charging in. Her eye quickly identified the hound, growling at something in the back of the cave, and she glanced in that direction once before slamming her blade into the monster's side. As it fell, a quick glance of the cave revealed four other lifeforms - three hound pups and one human, dressed in black that made him nearly invisible at first. Then her eye gave her a name, and she paused in taking the blade back from the hound's side.
"Professor Hojo?"
