Who: Elena (
puisne_turk ) | Reno (realflashy )
When: Day 49(?)
Location: Edge
Rating: PG-13 (For starters. It is Reno, y’know!)
Summary: Elena and Reno go on a date meet up outside the WRO office for drinks and to report on what information they were able to dig up.

Fifteen to seven. Rushing water splashing against cold porcelain drowned out most of the noise and chatter in her brain as she washed her face with the cooling liquid.  She had wanted to take a shower before meeting with Reno, but the paperwork seemed to never end. And if it wasn’t the reports and updates that kept it busy, it was Scarlet demanding coffee, complaining that the coffee was too sweet - or too bitter - or too hot - or too cold - or just complaining and giving Elena hell for the fun of it.

Locking gazes with her own reflection, she patted away the stray droplets with a small hand towel. She didn’t look too bad for working eleven hours. And getting a few hours sleep. And receiving an unnerving phone call that left her jittery and on edge. But the thought of catching up with Reno at a local bar had been motivation enough to push through the last two hours, moving her once large pile into three smaller piles for further processing. Really, it was...flattering? No, maybe it was endearing? Whatever it was, the fact that he was flying from Gongaga for drinks had left her feeling happy. Wanted. Missed? Hell, it didn’t even matter that she was going to pick up what was going to be a very hefty tab too.

Resting the hand towel on the edge of the sink, she moved back into the small room she had been given as temporary living. Though hardly spacious, it was at least a little bigger than her place in Gongaga. A single bed, slightly larger than a twin, pressed up against the longer wall, a window with blinds just over a make-shift bedside table. On the desk/vanity was a hairbrush and makeup bag on one side and the other a gun-cleaning kit, two glasses and a bottle of scotch. Two extra suits hung on the back of the door leading into the bathroom and a second pair of shoes nestled underneath the desk. It wasn’t quaint or fancy, but it was (temporarily) home.

Another glance at her watch and she was bolting down the hall towards the elevator at a brisk pace. Elena had only five minutes before she was supposed to rendezvous with Reno outside the WRO headquarters. Finally familiar with the building’s layout, it took her no time to find the elevator, and then the stairs when she got tired of waiting, the sounds of her hurried steps echoing in the stairwell. With just a minute to spare, she was outside the WRO, catching her breath. It wasn’t that she hurried because she was excited to see him. No, no, no. That wasn’t it at all. She just...didn’t want to be late and have that red-headed schmuck start the party without her.
