There was a pause long enough to catch a couple breaths and call, "You okay?" to Tifa, and then another hound was on him. So much for a quiet evening...
[[OOC: Are we saying this happened at the end of this, and this is what got Tifa and Rude outside and eventually allows Hojo to sneak away? (Which would make sense to me) In which case, the time would be day 45, evening.]]

"Where did they come from?" she called over the sounds of battle.
[OOC: Works for me, will edit that now.]

He glanced then at the other woman who had joined the battle. She looked familiar, and he was pretty sure he had seen her before, though he couldn't at the moment place where.
"Have we met?"
[[OOC: I assume it makes sense for them to have met at some point but not too significantly? Or should he more definitely know who she is?]]

"You might have seen me around. I was in SOLDIER years ago..." She grinned at him, adding, "Kira Ashikira's my name."

"Don't know," he replied to Tifa's question, "Still plenty wrong with the planet, I think." Monsters showing up seemed pretty normal by comparison to people coming back to life and anything else weird going on.

"Rude...of the Turks, right?" She started to put her weapon away, then realized she was still dressed for the cafe and simply held it by her side. "Could be the planet or Sephiroth..."

"She makes good food," he tacked onto the end of Tifa's introduction, finally turning his attention fully back to the two women again. He didn't bother to respond to the comment about saving the planet, deciding he didn't have anything too useful to say. He understood the significance, but he had never had the adamant concern for the issue that Tifa did. They had been enemies over it once, after all. Admittedly, that was just him doing his job, but his job made it difficult to have a very strong opinion about anything.
As for how many times people needed to save the planet, he tended to think it was more that the planet hadn't really been saved yet. At least at this point Rufus seemed to be trying to work on it.

But it had been a while since she had looked on that with any sort of resentment. After all, Shinra and SOLDIER had definitely been in the wrong, and Tifa in particular had been hurt by it.
She shook off the urge to apologize and said, sounding slightly flustered, "I run a little cafe a few streets over...kind of forgot to mention."

"Thanks for your help," he muttered. He and Tifa might have been able to fight off the pack on their own, but he didn't discount the influence of a few well-placed fireballs in getting the remnants of the group to turn tail and run.

As Tifa turned away, she nodded to Rude. "Can't let them hurt anyone else in the city..." she murmured.
