The days had not been kind to the dark-headed male. Were it not for his brother's broadcast, he would have presumed him bonded with OMEGA for all eternity. Who knew what had happened after such a merger? Certainly he didn't, other than the blinding agony that was fusing with his beloved brother, his polar opposite, and the overwhelming sense of loss that now haunted him. A lesser man (a saner man) would have questioned it, but the Sable simply brushed it off, claiming inwardly that "Weiss was Weiss, no matter what". Even if he was buried under some sick persona once more, Nero would fight tooth and nail to give his brother anything he desired ( ... )

Once Weiss stopped his march into the cave, his ears picked up on the others frantic, approaching footsteps. A small grin came to his face as his eyes slipped shut, body preparing itself for the blow that was surely about to come. And, just as he predicted, his brother was there, holding on tight, as though expecting him to disappear.

Weiss himself made no move to return the embrace, nor did he flinch away. Even if he didn't show it, even if he didn't realize it, he had missed his brother. The fact he had sought him out in the first place was enough to show that. Still, whatever sentiment or feeling he may have had about the reunion was buried deep down, unable to be reached. His tone was as carefree and taunting as ever when he finally pulled away to face Nero ( ... )

How he longed to feel this body in his arms once more. The Sable couldn't even remember the last time he had been able to hold his brother like this, with the wild abandonment that would have made even the children of DeepGround shake their heads. But these were his arms holding his living brother, his real arms and his warm brother. If Nero was capable of it, he would have been positively giddy ( ... )
