"Is, uh, what really that bad?" Kunsel asked, a bit thrown by the question due to it being directed at his own very convoluted brand of logic. It was a little-known fact, but next to nothing could stand up to Kunsel's logic, not even Kunsel himself. "My life? No, not really. But you'd be surprised how little it takes before you find yourself better off dead."

The almost-smile on Elfé wasn't missed by Kunsel, however, and it put him a little more at ease. That was all it took, really. Kunsel was the kind of guy who tended to sabotage himself when it came to interpersonal affairs. Just one little thing could send him into a bottomless downward spiral, until he found himself dramatically longing for the sweet embrace of death. A helping hand now and again got him right back on track, which was probably why he got on so swimmingly with Zack. Zack was incredibly forgiving if nothing else, and he had all the patience in the world to help Kunsel up again and again.

"Are you one of Sai's friends?" he went on to ask, managing to start something akin to a viable conversation now that he was feeling a bit better. "Naw, can't be. I see that look in your eye. If you were friends with Sai, he'd be dead."

"Shera's," she helped correct him (and trying not to scoff--she really couldn't see how anyone could stand Sion), "and I suppose you could say I'm acquainted with Zack."

Elfé tried to avoid the terms that were too affectionate, because her mind already had trouble differentiating between basic concepts friendship, family, and alliance. In her past life, the ones she treasured had been all these things, yet, now she found herself estranged from it all. She wasn't sure where or how to start all over again. (But in truth, she just didn't know how to move forward.)

"He... Sion seems to care about you, though," she asserted, the words sounding very strange coming from her mouth. "He gave you quite a bit from his own portion..."

She trailed off, not quite sure if she was supposed to have noticed that detail in the first place. (Knowing Sion, probably not.)
