actually, the correct way of missing your grandfather would be: mon pépère me manques.
i'm sorry you do.

Well, looks like I just learned something then! My French is terrible and bordering on non-existent but it seemed right for this thought to be in French. Thank you for the correction though!

Wait, wouldn't that be my grandfather misses/lacks me? My French is still quite poor, but we just studied this! And wouldn't it still be manque? Where does the s come from? Confused!

It sounds like it's wrong, but it's true. Tu me manques means I miss you. Except I'm not sure about the s when it's "mon pepere".

This is neat, watching all the actual French speakers rally for grammar's sake. How are you D? Any decisions made yet about school? When are you going to be looking at Boston? Maybe me and Marina could put you up for the night or at least cook you a meal?

I'm nervous and impatient these days. A meal sounds so nice, but I don't know that I will make it to Boston! I'd love to live in the city, but I'm not sure about that particular program. So much to weigh. But it's exciting.

Yes, I can't wait to hear about your choice! Or visits even.

oops, you're right about the s, but for the rest - sometimes French is just kind of backwards :) it was one of the things that drove me crazy when i was starting to study it.

Nod--it doesn't always drive me that crazy, and some things are similar enough to Spanish that I have it stuck in my brain like that already, but this one! My French teacher should've told me! I feel so let down.
