The update one is normally garaunteed to see from me would be about the Friday/Saturday/Sunday time period. Looks like I'm late on that, silly me.
Friday: Work sailed by, literally. Near the end of the night, a teammate found that a former employee had abandoned a bunch of paper crafts at her desk. My supervisor began handing the stuff out to random people on his team. I got possession of a pink/purple checkered paper, about 2 1/2 feet by 1 foot, which had a sailboat beautifully drawn on it. However, I was currently borrowing someone else's desk, as I hadn't been assigned my own yet(all the teams were recently switched around). Having nowhere else to display it, I firmly taped it to my chest. My sup and a few girls on the team laughed out of amusement. I then went to the cafeteria to call Lisa, walking around as if nothing were out of the ordinary. I got a few stares along the way, then was questioned by my former team leader, Krista. She calmly asked "Why's there a sailboat on your chest, Todd?". I casually explained to her the situation, which got some chuckles out of her. After getting back from my break, I was given long strip with paper flowers on it. Feeling further inspired, I taped the two ends to my back in an angular fashion, much like the banners a beauty contestant would wear. A sup from another team walked by me later, and commented that I looked pretty.
Anyhoot, I felt excited going home, as I was going to get to see Lisa two days in a row starting the next day. Spoke to Kate for a while to see how her visit with Amber went. Amber posted about the trip in her journal already, so I won't re-iterate it all here. T'was really nice to be able to talk to Kate again.
Saturday: Saw Lisa at the weekly YGO card tournament. She was there before me, so I had to wait until the tourney started before buying her the Easter presents I had in mind. She unfortunately lost in the first round, but that allowed us to spend the rest of our time there together.
Went grocery shopping after the tournament. I wasn't terribly low, but I wanted to get something to bring to her family's Easter dinner(they invited me, surprisingly). I settled upon a cheesecake sample platter, since that family seems to love cheesecake.
I always feel accomplished after shopping at Albertson's these days, due to their great sales. The last few times I've been there, I managed to get enough stuff to last me a little over a month, for $100 or below. I may only be one person, but that's still pretty damn good.
Sunday: Had Easter dinner with Lisa and her family, and got to spend the longest amount of time with her I ever have. I got there at 1 in the afternoon, and they had me there until 10:30. Everything went pretty well. They were loving the cheesecake.
Anyway, I got Lisa $40 worth of YGO card stuff, and I got American Beauty for her family to watch, since they're big on movies(though it turns out her parents thought it was a weird movie...!QUE SARA!). Her father got me a very nice watch. Lisa got me a flower vase(since I didn't have one of my own when she got me flowers once), a picture frame along with recent pics of her *melt*, and actually made me this stitched scarf which was green and black.
Ooh...Lisa and I played chess before dinner. The game went a little over an hour, I think. Not to be arrogant, but I was really smacking her at first. I had her queen cornered, protecting the king. If she'd taken my queen with hers, she would have lost her queen to my knight. She wasn't sure what to do, until her brother advised her to to just take my queen and cut her losses(I had several of her pieces by then). Things evened out a bit after that, but I still had her on the run. Then her father came to watch, and both of those guys began giving her some slight hints, in their own way. The game went evenly for a while, until I became overzealous and moved my rooks out too soon. I was trying to put some pressure on her, because the rooks put me a move away from jeopardizing her king. However, I left my king open to be cornered by her knight and last rook, which was check mate. I won't say she won solely because of her brother and father's help(I did make the rook mistake on my own), but I think the game might have lasted longer, were it not for that. Nevertheless, I felt proud of myself. Her dad is a freaking chess guru, and has taught Lisa and her brother a good deal. I was seemingly facing all three of them in the second half, and it still wasn't an easy victory. I'm a pressureful player, and had Lisa(and her family XD) against the ropes for 3/4 of the game.
So Lisa, Mike and I all goofed around on Pokemon Stadium 2, after dinner. Lisa and I also got into some extreme tickle fests.
So that's it for the weekend. Oh, I did get to speak to Kate and Amber on the phone Monday, for the first time in weeks. It was pretty fun, but I felt like I was somehow killing the chat by being there. Whenever I spoke, they both seemed to be quiet for five seconds, then start up again. I had the sense that Amber was uncomfortable with my presence, for whatever reason. Perhaps it was because we hadn't spoken in so long, and she may have become accustomed to speaking to Kate without me. Perhaps she would have liked it if I hadn't been there. I'd be grateful for my absence, were I someone else. Or maybe I'm wrong *shrugs*
Buenos tardes, mi familia
