Haven't been online for three days, so I guess it's proper to update on the happenings of Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.
Saturday: Couldn't see Lisa at the card tourney, due to probable food poison(my stomach was NOT happy with me). I had no money for a bus, and the card shop is just over four miles away. BAH. She understood though, and we got to talk on the phone plenty that day.
Also got to speak with Kate and Amber on three-way that day, which was great. We talked about plenty of light hearted things, as well as things covered in Amber's recent journal entry. Kate managed to fall off her bed and chair during the convo...I hope she was alright.
Sunday: Felt somewhat better, but a lazy day nonetheless. Lisa and I worked out the details of the plans for our date this week, which I'll cover later. I wanted to call Cris(Riku) and Katrina(Yami Yasha) on three-way, but Katrina wasn't there. It was fun talking to Cris just the same. We got into somewhat of a political discussion, and we had some opposing viewpoints. I wasn't afraid of the discussion though, as I knew Cris had changed alot from the old days. Even though I didn't see some things like she did, she didn't get mad at me or anything. We both had a good time, and it was quite stimulating.
Also got to chat with Kate that night, which was cool. When her and I speak, 80% of our conversation is random and silly, while the other 20% is devoted to seriousness. 'Tis most fun^^.
Monday: An even lazier day. I did some reading, T.V. watching, studying, etc. Lisa and I talked more about having dinner together, and that was pleasant. We were thinking that a nice italian place called "Antonio's" would be good to try after Applebee's, in a couple weeks.
Casually watched a Star Trek Marathon that day, though I was disappointed they did not show "The Wrath of Kahn". I like the chemistry the cast has in those movies, but I think Kahn was the best one, imo. I couldn't believe they didn't show it >>.
Today: ... ...*shrug*. I was supposed to open a checking account today, but there's a big freaking problem. Although I have opened two other bank accounts with my social security card, state I.D. and birth certificate-Colorado Springs banks consider all of those to be secondary forms. Apparently all banks in the city require a driver's license, military I.D. or a passport as primary. I'm not in the military, nor do I intend to travel outside the country anytime soon. I'm getting a driver's license when I can afford lessons, but that may not be for months. And it's not even that my state I.D. is from Arizona, they wouldn't accept a Colorado I.D. either. This throws a big wrench in my plans for the day and week, depending on how things turn out. It really pisses me off that the banks here are so obtuse in their requirements for identification. Do I really have to be in the army or drive in order to have a fucking bank account? Even though driving is common place, not everyone does it, and not everyone gets the chance to learn at the same time. Well, time to look into other options, I guess.
EDIT: Never mind about the bank. I called again, and got a different story. Apparently they accept: state i.d., school i.d. and a utility bill(I have a phone bill from Qwest, thank god) for a college checking account. The lady this morning sure didn't make it sound like I had any other option >_>;. Anyway, I'm off to the bank now.
Lisa and I are planning on calling Brooke(aka Meow Mix for Vampires) today for her birthday. Brooke's a real sweety, one of my best friends, and I hope we can help her be happy today.
Other than that, I have class in twenty minutes. Since we're still covering Mic Word, I'll most likely be checking the board part of the time.
