027; On Madeleine McCann. [PUBLIC]

May 19, 2007 09:47

If you live in Britain or Europe, you will have already heard about the story of Madeleine McCann, the four year old toddler who was mysteriously abducted from an apartment in Portugal while her parents dined elsewhere. I don't know whether this story is swarming all over America as well, so if not, here's a round-up of the tale on the BBC News ( Read more... )

Wow. Glad I wasn't in a good mood or anything. ;)

Seriously, excellent summation.

I have to pretend I'm a literate and newspaper-reading human being sometimes. Apologies. ;D

Thanks very much. How are you, by the way? Haven't spoken to you in a while.

I sorta forgot who you were due to the name change, to be honest. *blushes* I know, it's been ages! Been up all night making posters for the Public Works open house. That would be a favor to my mom, who works in the engineering department there. I had to make up big colorful signs indicating how engineers use MATHEMATICS and posing fun math problems that kids can try to solve.

The result of this is that my hand fucking hurts. Fuck those kids.

That's cool, the name change confuses even me. I am amused however that it's the most depressing post I've made in this journal or indeed the other one that helped you to work it out. ;)

I recently had a job which involved painful hands all day. I solved that problem by quitting the job and swearing at my hands a lot until they decided to behave. You should try this method.

So, did you ever get over your fear of Doctor Tennant?

Hahahaha I don't know what it was? It's not like I associate you with depressing shit.

I still can't say I am fond of Tennant, but at least he has toned it down a bit this season. I mean some of the random yelling is still there, but it's not as annoying. I think it might be partially because Freema works better with him than Billie. (Nothing beats Billie and Chris, though.)

That's good to kno.

I actually think this season's knocking the socks off of the last season - Series 2 really was a bit rubbish, to be honest. Freema and David are definitely the next Billie and Chris, because Billie and David just didn't work. Too smug.

... I miss Doctor Ecclescake though. :| Still.

I agree; Billie and David were just horrible together! Something about them didn't click at all.

Oh well, I was pleased to be watching Ecclescake in Heroes and now he's going to be in the The Dark Is Rising movie and all, so yay.

I think it was that thing she did with her tongue and her teeth.

Oh, he's in Heroes? I haven't gotten that far in the series.

Yeah he comes in about halfway through? Heh, he looks like he hasn't been washed in ages. Still hot to me, though.

Eccleston will always be hot.

Did you watch Torchwood, by the way?

<<< He cleans up nice in the flashbacks.

And no, I watched the first episode but was left feeling that it was a little...

Phwooooooooooar. Etcetera.

I am unafraid to admit: I watched it for Captain Jack.

Were any of them worth it? I mean, I did love Captain Jack, but I don't know if I loved him quite enough for that.

There were only about four or five episodes really worth watching out of thirteen - one about fairies, one where a dead team member comes back to life, one where people come forward in time, one about Captain Jack and the series finale. The rest were really neither here nor there.

Captain Jack was the only male character worth bothering with. The girls were quite good though.
