I like the bad science fiction effect with alternate history and air ships. When you get down it it, I like the background better then the characters. Also the bad vampires are more interesting, dull as the characters are. Not very original. I'm getting a little tired of teen vampire angst meet HG Wells. Wells did it so much better. I agree with the ratings.

One book I LOVED was one I thought I would never read. A Japanese novel. It's got a bad English title (translated from the Japanese) All You Need is Kill. I had 3 different people urge me to read it. Finally did. A dose of the film Groundhogs Day and military battle. It's in the future. There is a world war going between people and Alien invaders. They've have a strong foot hold in to Asia by way of Japan. The hero is a average Joe private. He gets caught in a time loop. Repeating over and over, the day he gets killed in battle. He has to find a way out.

This is going to be a film. They are casting it now. I figure they will have to change the title. I don't know if it will be with Japanese actors or Western ones. It's a fantastic story, I hope Hollywood will not kill it.

I think that sums it up. It could have been a really good book, but it was only average.

I'll have a look for the other book.
