Dammit, now BLU's gone too!

Ugh, first I was just disappointed in regards to Tokyopop's closing, but now I'm a bit pissed off. I understand that they were having some problems, but at the same time, it kind of feels like this is just all because Stu Levy doesn't want to do manga anymore. I feel really bad for the employees, too. I'm especially pissed because I just found out that BLU will be closing as well, and I'm having a hard time believing that BLU was doing so badly that they'd have to close down, when they just recently announced new titles. If the company is doing so poorly, how is it that they were able to get new licenses? I don't understand that. Yes, Tokyopop did a lot for manga back in the day (even if they were bad at translations, lol), but the way this is being done just makes me wonder...If he got tired of manga, why couldn't he have someone else handle it? Or at least handle BLU, anyway. I'm glad he at least took the time to inform everyone of the decision to close, but lately I've been getting the impression that he's doing this to find the "next big thing", and I don't really see former Tokyopop readers such as myself following him on that journey. In the past few years, people have already been a bit uneasy about buying newer Tokyopop titles, because they didn't know if their favorite books would continue. *sigh* Hopefully some other publishers will pick up my favorite books---Otherwise, I'd better go and work on my Kanji skills...
