So, i've hit some rough patches of late and finances have become more rocky than i'd like. To compound this, William will be moving out when the lease runs out at the end of February. I hold no ill will against him for this and fully support his decision. So no getting mad at him.
However, this leaves me in a little bit of a pickle. I have 3 choices in front of me right now. At current I do not make enough to support the life-style I currently lead with a shared rent arrangement. In order to make ends meet I will need to either shave $420 off my monthly budget, assuming I can find a livable 1 bedroom apartment for $500 a month (preferably in a neighborhood where I have less than a 50% daily chance of getting shot), or I need to find another room mate. After carefully going over my budget, I have found a total of about $150 a month I can take out. This will however, remove the vast amount of stress relievers in my life and force me to return to a lifestyle similar to that which I lead while working at UPS, minus the LARPing and MMOs. Seeing that this still leaves me with a deficit of $270 a month, I am not liking this plan. Nor will anyone I interact with if I have no way to vent.
As such, I am looking into option b, which is to find a new room mate. So far as I know, nobody is looking. So, if you have a friend that is looking to move into the HEB area in the end of February / beginning of march, please let me know. Please keep in mind anything you know annoys me or is likely to make me homicidal when making a recommendation. That said, I mostly stay to myself at home, so if they can mind my personal space and clean up after themselves, it should be ok. I am very open to suggestions. Male or female does not make a difference. Knowing this person ahead of time is definitely a plus, but as it worked out with William I am willing to give it another shot.
The third option is to find another job. I prefer IT work, as that is what my degree is in, and I have just begun to get into my field in a small way. But beggars can't be choosers. If it makes more than 25k a year I can make due with the current lifestyle in a 1 bedroom for $500 a month. As always, the preference would be for more than 25k a year. Actual IT work I would prefer over 30k.
Please, list any ideas if you have them. I'm open to suggestion.
