Dallas quickly backed up and ended up slamming against the wall as he saw Chad round the corner. Chad was smiling and had his hands behind his back, and even from this distance, Dallas could smell the over-powering scent of perfume emanating from him.

"No," Dallas stated firmly as Chad's eyes locked on him.

Chad came closer and bounced lightly on the balls of his feet, pouting. "Please?"

Dallas coughed, choking on all the perfume in the air. "Definitely not."

"It's the last time, I swear it," Chad pleaded.

Dallas made the mistake of meeting his eyes and relented with a sigh, holding out his hand. "It better be," he warned. Chad grinned and slapped an envelope into Dallas' waiting hand. It was pink and decorated with hearts and flowers. Dallas picked it up at the corner with his thumb and forefinger and held it away from himself.

"Thanks, Dally," Chad said, leaning in to kiss his cheek before bouncing off down the hallway.

"Euch," Dallas muttered, rubbing at his cheek with the palm of his hand. His eyes immediately started to water and he sniffed his palm, scrunching up his nose when he realized it stank of perfume. "Awww, man," he groaned before sneezing.

"Ten, twenty, thirty, forty," Josey counted out as he laid ten-dollar bills into Danny's hand.

Danny smiled and shoved the money in his front pocket, then held out his hand again. "Same place as usual?" he asked.

"That's right," Josey drawled, placing a lavender envelope into Danny's waiting palm.

Danny blinked at the bright-red lipstick kiss on the front of it and then at Josey, noticing traces of the same shade on his lips. He opened his mouth to say something, thought the better of it and backed out of Josey's dressing room, closing the door behind him without another word.

Dallas was standing there waiting for him, a pink envelope held at arm's length. "Hey," Dallas greeted.

"Hey," Danny said, pointing at the pink envelope with his lavender one. "Chad con you again?"

"Yeah," Dallas admitted with a sigh. "He swears it's the last one."

Danny laughed. "Sucker."

"Yeah, and I suppose Josey's paying you, eh?" Dallas asked and then sneezed.

"Actually, yeah," Danny said, grinning wider.

"Well, fuck," Dallas swore and then sneezed again.

Nik frowned as he heard a rather female-sounding shriek coming from the back of the bus. He cautiously peaked around the curtain that separated the front of the bus from the bunks and blinked in disbelief when he just saw Chad standing there with a lavender envelope in his hands.

"Uhhh," Nik said, inarticulately.

Chad spun around to face and pressed the envelope to his chest. "I got another letter from my secret admirer," he said, practically beaming.

"Secret admirer?" Nik repeated as he tried to wrap his mind around the concept of Chad, a grown man, having a secret admirer, much less shrieking over one.

"Look," Chad said, handing Nik the envelope.

Nik's eyebrows inched toward his hairline as he took in the big lipstick smear on the front. Then he pulled out the letter inside and skimmed it. After the fourth use of the phrase "beautiful buttercup" to describe Chad, Nik gave up and handed it back to him. "Uhhh," he said, once again lost for words.

"Isn't she great?" Chad asked. "This is the third letter this week."

Nik scratched his head, trying to think of what female besides Laura, who they collectively referred to as "Mom," was on tour with them this week and came up blank. "How do you know it's a woman, eh?"

Chad blinked and then frowned, apparently in thought. "Well, the lipstick…" He trailed off and looked down at the lip-shaped smear on the envelope and then back up at Nik. "Oh."

Nik bit the inside of his mouth, trying not to give into temptation and laugh. "Yeah, and so do you write her back?"

Chad nodded. "Oh, yeah. And then Dally puts the note on the bus."

"Dally? Never mind," Nik corrected before Chad could speak. "And what bus would that be?"

"Saliva's," Chad answered slowly, his eyes going wide.

"Uh-huh," Nik said, covering his mouth with his hand so Chad wouldn't see him laughing at him. "And just where exactly on the bus does Dallas put the note?"

"On Josey's bunk," Chad said with a slight frown.

It was at that point that Nik gave up and laughed until it hurt, mainly because he couldn't breathe, but also because Chad kicked him in the shins before stalking off the bus.

Dallas and Danny hid in the shadows as they watched Chad stalk onto Saliva's tour bus. Then Danny quietly slid a stepladder under an open window on the bus and Dallas climbed up it, peaking inside.

"What's going on?" Danny whispered.

"Shhhh," Dallas whispered back as he watched Chad shake the lavender envelope in Josey's face.

"Having fun, boys?" a voice asked behind them.

Startled, Dallas teetered on the ladder before falling back on top of Danny, who promptly collapsed under his weight. Dallas frowned up at the owner of the voice until he realized who it was and quickly scrambled to his feet. "Hey, Mike," he said nervously as he helped Danny to his feet.

"Mind me asking why you're spying on Saliva's tour bus," Mike asked, but it wasn't really a question.

"Uhhh," Dallas said, pawing at the ground.

"Well, you see," Danny said, but didn't finish the sentence.

"Uh-huh," Mike drawled, crossing his arms over his chest.

Dallas scratched nervously at the back of his head. "Well, Chad--"

"Say no more," Mike ordered and then shooed them away.

They quickly walked away, only Dallas looking back to catch Mike folding up the ladder, muttering something about kids getting hurt. The shock of hearing such nice and caring words coming from Mike's mouth causing him to trip over his own feet and knock Danny to the ground again. This time they stayed there.

**

"Ain't you sweet."

Mike nearly dropped the ladder in shock. "Who's there?" he barked into the darkness.

Nik stepped forward, a big grin on his face. "You really care about those kids, don't you?"

Mike scowled. "I do not."

"Do too," Nik said as he stepped closer.

"Do not," Mike growled.

"Do too," Nik insisted, stepping into Mike's personal space.

"Do not," Mike snarled, his eyes flashing.

"You're sexy when you're angry," Nik mused, tilting his head at Mike.

"Wha--" Mike managed to say before Nik leaned in and kissed him hard, causing Mike to drop the ladder to the ground and then forget about it completely as he kissed Nik back.

Josey and Chad watched all of this from the safety of the tour bus and toasted each other's drinks in satisfaction before sitting down in the lounge area.

"We rock," Chad commented.

"So, no more letters?" Josey asked, trying to keep his voice neutral.

"I guess not," Chad answered mildly.

"Did you really mean--" They both said at the same time and then stopped.

"You go first," Josey said graciously.

Chad coughed. "I mean, you didn't really mean it when you said I'm a, you know, beautiful buttercup, right?"

Josey blushed. "Well, I reckon you didn't mean nothing by saying my inner beauty, you know, blinds you."

"If I did, it wouldn't matter anyway, eh?" Chad asked. "'Cause it was just for the letters."

"Right," Josey said.

"Right," Chad repeated.

They drank in silence for a moment. Josey stared blankly at the ice in his glass once his drink was gone while Chad tapped his fingers against his own glass.

"So," Josey said, running a hand through his hair.

"So," Chad echoed, picking at his jeans.

Josey took a deep breath. "So maybe I did mean it."

Chad looked up, startled. "What?"

"Maybe I did mean it," Josey repeated.

"Oh." Chad looked down at his lap briefly and then back up at Josey. "Well maybe I did too. You know, mean it."

Josey smiled at Chad and then winked as he asked, "Wanna go steady?"

Chad's only answer was to grab Josey's hand and pull him to the back of the bus, smiling all the way.
