That is Dick to a tee. He's one of the best athletes on the planet, a premiere acrobat, so his sense of balance is unquestionable. By anyone but Dick, of course. Leave it to Dick to decide Tim is better at something just because Tim keeps talking.
This time, Tim smiles mysteriously. “No reason.”
I love all of the little things I can see in their conversation. Tim is a very smart kid, so I can just hear Dick's wheels grinding as he tries to figure out if Tim is just joking with him or if Tim has seen enough clues to put together something Dick doesn't want him to know. Or even something Dick didn't know was there. You can take it a variety of ways, and that makes it work beautifully.

I love that you can see them. I'm sure that Tim has put something together that Dick doesn't want him to know. Which makes me want to write a prequel to this where we see Dick's first kiss with a guy. Sigh.

I don't usually imagine Dick being intimidated by Tim's competence, but as I think about it, that would be in keeping with certain tendencies Dick has.
