oh snap son
This is insanely long. If you read it all then you are awesome.
Wow. This weekend was amazing. But lets start with something else. For the people that dont know, when i was at sadd camp my mom(i dont know if it was a joke or not, but its my mom...) entered me in a coloring contest. Color a picture..thats it. Well she told me and i thought she was joking. Two weeks later, she tell me we won first place. Well i finally got my prize, which is the hobbit for the computer(a game). Yeah i never actually saw the picture that "i drew".
Ok then, Some of the people from sadd (all of the board members and mike) went to sadd conference in shanty creek. Its five hours north of here. Well friday we get on our school bus at 3:30 and we leave. We ended up getting there at 10 because we get lost..and i guess we were in traverse city at one point. Well we get there and its all good, we find our rooms and stuff and go to sleep at like one i think.
Well saturday we wake up, cousino talked and ate breakfast and stuff, then people started getting there and conference started. The SAB members talked, everythings was introduced, we watched one of those really sweet videos that are on three HUGE screens and did all that fun stuff. We did our workshop and it didnt turn out as well as we hoped(cousino had a plan a 50 minute workshop, and we hadnt practice it at all before hand..ours was on teamwork). Then that night we had the memorial which was really really sad, and it made me think a lot(and realize why sadd is so imporant). Then we did mock rock(a dance that our school had to do, and cousino got 2nd), our skits(cousino again got second), and the girls did the fasion show thing. I think after that we all went to sleep and stuff(and i know im missing stuff, but thats all i can think of now)
Well the next morning we wake up early and people talk and all that good stuff, then we did our workshop again(which went great) and we went to some other workshops. Then that night we had the advisor dinner(we all had to wear really nice stuff..guys wore dress shirts/suits, some girls wore homecoming dresses), then we had the fifties dance which was alright.(oh gosh i know im missing so much).
Today we had the final thing, left around 12:30, and got back at 6:30. It was so awesome.
Now some funny stuff that happened. First, my head hurt and i was in my room, and pretty much i said my head might be bleeding (key word there is MIGHT, and i wasnt like dieing or anything), so i find out adrian(the other guy in our room) runs down and tells someone else, and then one of the staff people hears it, and someone comes to my room and asks if im alright 100 times and stuff, and its all good. Well then they ask again in the workshop i was in, and then the medic guy came holding ice and his first aid kit..wow.. it was really funny, and it was a conference wide joke by the end. The SAB members did a skit, and they included the head bleeding thing in there.
Your smiles fine - i dont even wanna get into that..basically everyone there ended up laughing at me during the skit...gosh.
another awesomely funny thing that happened was when adrian was messing with the thermostat and it came off, so i go to put it back on and it pretty much has a small explosion then sparks fly out...yeah.
ok now about SAB. SAB is student advisory board. The 12 of them(mostly juniors and seniors, some sophomore) basically ran the whole thing, and they did some speeches and introduced people and stuff..they were basically the students in charge. They are 12 people from all around the state(two from cousino)that are chosen. Well i found out that freshman could apply for SAB(i thought it was an only junior/senior thing), and im considering applying. Im almost positive i wouldnt get chosen, because there are two cousino guys and there are some other cousino people that are older and would do better, but if i apply this year id have a better shot of getting it next year. Itd be a huge commitment, either year that id do it. Id have to drive around the state and just do so much. With band and butcher i dunno if id end up being to busy, but i know i couldnt have a job and id be a lot busier. SO im considering doing that. Also, they are all like really good public speakers and i dont think i am. Hopefully ill get better from butcher and stuff. Wow well i have two tests/quizes to study for, and im really tired so i am going to go. If someone wants to tell me, how do i put this in a cut?
