Wow! That's one big ass plant! Good thing pesto freezes well.:)

Yes, last night we made a double batch of pesto and froze half. As I was trimming the leaves off the stems, I found one fat live caterpillar (probably some kind of cabbage looper) staring back at me. That was a surprise. Also found one pupa. At least I know now what's been eating the plant!

Anyhow, the plant is a little sparser now. I'm hoping I have cut it back enough to stop it from bolting for a while. Thanks again for getting me started on this crazy gardening journey!
