dialogue about meditation

great_dame -I tried to tackle sub and obj once...lead me in painful circles...i need a brain transplant.

Those buddhists were shutting down parts of their brain that censored where they ended and the ouside world, began, hence feeling "connected". If shutting down is enlightment, then screw that.

my understanding is that the goal of meditation is to transcend our symbolic realm. our intellect creates models for 'reality,' and nothing more. by talking right now, i'm expanding/enriching models, but not actually providing or aiding the transcendence of them ( ... )

i posted that in haste. i hadn't read much of this journal, and so i didn't know the context i was posting into. in other words, maybe this stuff is obvious to the people who'll find it, and maybe this isn't a forum for such things to be posted. still interesting points, but let me know.
