[Dick is actually... really, really not sure he wants to ask Arthur about this right now, considering he definitely sounds pissed, but he needs the answers, and Arthur might be able to give them.]
Because she wouldn't, not the Mal I knew! She was never a danger to anyone but herself, and after her last experience with the Death Toll didn't get her what she wanted? There was no reason to suspect she'd suddenly go after him. [Frustrated:] I warned her about Barge doubles, and I told her to stay away from him!
[Enjoy, this is the only time Arthur will ever lose his cool!]
What? [There's a DEADLY SERIOUS PAUSE as he tries to gather all of his thoughts and composure, force some more sobriety back (although, really, this conversation's already doing wonders for that).] What did Ariadne say? [He'd point out that she doesn't even KNOW Mal, never met the real woman before, but he doesn't want to give anything away if he doesn't have to. Who knows what the hell she spilled.]
[There's some slight consideration before Dick just more or less spills that he knows. What the hell, right? She's gone anyway and he's involved whether he wants to be or not.]
She said she'd met her in a dream, and that she was dangerous. Now, why the hell would she not warn me or Costigan himself if she knew that she'd have reason to harm him?
[Not that he really expects him to have an answer, but. This has been weighing on his mind pretty heavily lately.]
Met her in a dream? When did she tell you this, and what exactly did she say?
[There's a pause as Arthur rubs his temple, thinking of WTF HE CAN DO TO SALVAGE THIS SITUATION, and wondering why the hell Ariadne even talked about this to some guy.]
Ariadne never met Mal. The woman here, on the Barge? She died before Ariadne ever entered the picture. Mal doesn't know her, and if you tell her-- [He takes a frustrated pause, then continues.] If you talk to Mal and tell her any of this, repeat whatever it was Ariadne told you, it could be an even bigger goddamn disaster.
I don't know what she told you, but I have no idea what was going through Ariadne's head while she was here.
Don't worry, I'm planning on staying as far away from Mal as possible after this fiasco, and believe me, I've been wondering the same thing. [Not that Dick's bitter or anything that she could have let him know Costigan was in danger. What would make you think that? :\\\]
She told me about knowing Mal, you and Eames and explained about "dream sharing" after the Aztecs tried taking over the Barge. She said Cobb had a "projection" of Mal in his head after she died, and she was dangerous, but that dream sharing itself isn't unless you're under heavy sedation. A couple weeks ago, she told me about being here for Cobb because he got stuck in "limbo" after doing this with heavier sedation then usual, and that if you die in a dream, you usually wake up.
She told me to keep it a secret because everyone knowing about it could endanger your work here, and I have. I assumed she would have told you I knew. [Since he, Tim and Steph generally kept each other in the loop about who knew what about them. The idea that Ariadne wouldn't have told
( ... )
After the Aztecs? But she hadn't even been here that-- she couldn't have known you for more than a week--
[Oh, cool, so Ariadne told a dude who was practically a stranger... just about everything. Awesome. And here Arthur thought he could actually trust her after working with her for a few months.]
She told you about the technology. About Limbo. About what happened to my friends-- [He takes a seething breath, then lets out a sharp laugh.]
Oh, yeah, endanger me. That's what she was concerned about. That's why she told you about everything right after she met you, then kept me in the dark. Who else did she tell? Do you know?
[Oh no, Arthur's bitterness is starting to distract him now. Still, on the heels of the Cobb and Mal bombshell... this is almost too much. He was sloppy for ever trusting her.]
Can I ask you something?

Never a danger to anyone but herself, huh? That's definitely not what Ariadne said.
