wow.
three day "hike" across the back lands of Alaska
18 people, one dog
trekking over mountain ridges
crossing mountainsides of snow and ice - downhill
fog so thick we lost the trail and couldn't see 15 feet away
50 yard river crossing by foot - a river which is fed by glaciers
bears and moose and sheep galore
several river crossings by fallen logs
bouldering with ropes anchored in the rocks - with packs on
cramped legs and blisters and broken knees
barefooted walking through the woods
waterfalls and valleys and snow capped mountains
singing and laughter and fear and exhaustion
pain and frustration, rejoicing and accomplishment
bonding, growing, experiencing, conquering
and now it's time to sleep.
for those of you that know him - quote of the trip: Josh Lockrow: "i'm definitely getting my money's worth out of these pantyhose!"
