That actually bugs me. I think that analytic philosophy should be accessible to everyone, just as is most of continental philosophy.
It's like physics. Generally, physics is completely inaccessible to those who haven't taken years of it in college. But Stephen Hawking is able to dumb it down alright.
I want to be able to write papers that are accessible. It would take a lot more words than I'm aloud for classes, but I think I want to take some of them and give full background to the concepts. Have you read the ones I linked to a few posts ago? The discrete space one is a little tough, but I tried not to make anything tough in the Kant paper. Read my Kant paper, and let me know anything you don't understand. It's a very basic starting step into a MUCH larger book, and realm, but I need to know what about such papers is inaccessible.
Someday, perhaps far off, I will have to write books on metaphysics. I would like them to be at least somewhat readable by my friends. I care what you think, and it is unfortunate that we come from two different places. Philosophy is the stuff of much conversation. If I was going into nuclear physics, it wouldn't matter so much, but not having a common ground in philosophy is tougher among intelligent friends. ...Perhaps I can force you to read a couple books ;) Until then, I think that most of the concepts should be translatable to something other than purely technical terminology. I'm drunk now, so I'll continue that thought later :P
