City Shift - Narrative

Aug 13, 2010 18:54

The moment Heather's hand closed around that orb, he felt it. The surge of power rushing from the very earth itself. The Regent closed his eyes, bracing for the waves of energy flooding the city. As it had countless times before, it lifted him on its crest, leaving him floating, weightless, as it changed the very structure of Paradise itself.

Beyond, within the city, things were happening. The earth groaned as her bones moved and surged, buildings crumbled and were respun out of nothingness, the face of Paradise itself became different, foreign, a landscape never before seen.

Healing. The essence from the orb poured into the city, bending it, twisting it, soothing the wounded sores within the very earth. The Regent, borne on the wave of that beautiful glittering gold, sighed in relief. It was coming, he could feel it. They were on the road to redemption, and all would turn 'round again.

For destiny was a wheel; it never ceased to turn.

The Night of Horrors has ended. All the Reapers, ghouls and Zombies have been banished now that Lady Heather has retrieved her magic orb.

Also, the city of Paradise has changed, as well. The outpouring of magic from the blue orb brought to the city new life, as well as a completely new face. Check the settings page for information; there is a new map, images, and other information pertinent to Paradise. Characters still have their same housing, but the building might have moved a bit.

However, the only two in the city to "feel" this change are Heather and the Regent, as they have bonds with the city itself. For your characters, this shift will have taken place somewhat instantaneously, from one blink to the next, and they will have "woken" into a new world that looks strangely similar, yet different. Feel free to explore; there are no monsters or evils yet in the city (those are coming later), and the rain has now stopped. The sun is out and the sky is bright blue with gentle clouds here and there.

Unfortunately, the magic could not restore the fallen; characters who died before the shift are still in the same state; mun's choice on when they will revive. BUT: do note that they will carry with them a bit of the Night's darkness, this must influence them somehow, as that's a rule of character death. Questions, please ask. And enjoy the new City!
