[ action/audio ] [ intro | Abigail Whistler ]

May 05, 2010 19:17

[The feel of the city was a familiar beat even if the buildings weren't the same. It was a gritty feel that the woman clung to after having been shoved rather unceremoniously out of the clinic once those shots had been given to her. Abby still wasn't convinced they weren't a building full of familiars though the woman was smart enough to not have ( Read more... )

[There was a long pause before Abby even tried to reply. Mostly because she near to scowling at the damned NOC she was fiddling with. When she did, though, her voice was tight yet controlled.]

As much as I wish I could say that this was a good practical joke. I can't. Where's King?

I don't know. You're best off asking your replacement.

.....Replacement?

[There was an underlying tone of 'yeaaah right' in the way that the Nightstalker asked. She had just been with King and was quite sure there wasn't a replacement about.]

Quit it with the games, Talos. If there was one person in this city that wanted King more than most in the world, that would be you.

Ain't heard nobody called "Dex", sweetheart, but King's knockin' around somewhere. Might be still in the clinic, bunch of folks got banged up a shitton when the buildin' went down.

So he made it out...

[For a moment there was a note of relief in the woman's voice before it was quickly brushed aside and replaced with a more neutral tone. But if Dex had gone down then she'd have to deal with that later.]

If that's the building I just came out of I didn't see him... How do you know King?

Eh, not much. He's been stuck here 'bout as long as the rest of us.

Stuck here?

[There was a pause as Abby pushed herself off the wall and started to move again. Sounds of the woman walking filtered in through her words. If the man knew King that either meant he was one of the enemy or a friend. Right now Abby was hoping for the later...]

Where exactly is here?

Whistler? [Yeah, he recognised the voice, not just his name.] Dex isn't around, but now you are. Hmm.

Y'okay?

Hannibal?

[The relief that was actually there in Abby's voice was evident for the first time since she had talked to anyone there. He was probably one of the only people she knew that she'd let her guard down around. Even for a couple of seconds.] What the hell is going on here? For a second we were in the cemetery then the next thing I know there are people trying to jab me with needles and shoving this... NOC in my hand.

Yeah, well, that's a really long, complex and twisted story that I didn't pay attention to the first time, [He really should've but it got boring two minutes in] short version is we're stuck, somewhere, and wherever it is, it's freaky.

Like, other sort of worlds freaky. Ever been on an acid trip?

No, but I'll take it that you have personal experience and trust you with it. [The archer's tone was rather neutral, as per the usual with her, though him being who he was could possibly pick up on the underlying uncertainty that was there. They were stuck, away from the others, and there was other worlds involved. Great. Throw in how ever many other vampires or werewolves might be there and it was a regular party.

Pushing herself away from the wall she had been leaning against, the sounds of the woman walking quickly flittered in between her words.]

I'm... fine. Head hurts like a mother, but nothing I can't handle.

[Another friend of King's? Isn't that just fantastic.]

Welcome to Paradise, better known as hell or purgatory depending on who you ask.

[At least she wasn't as loud or talkative as King could be.]

Paradise in a twisted sense. I'd say thank you for the welcome, but I wasn't exactly ready to go to hell just yet.

[True, but he doesn't know that yet.]

Are there people who are ready to go to hell? I know I wasn't.

[Even if he deserved to be there.]
