It would have worked as long as you were persistent.

[It was more out of instinct than concious thought that Zack shifted his posture into one of defense. He had seen that kind of posture on other people before; heard that tone before all hell broke loose. To see them both come from Tseng...it was unnerving. But his own voice lowered as well, eyes narrowing.]

I know she is. Tseng, you know that if I'd had the chance, I'd have gladly given my life for hers. Hells, I'd still do it right now if I could. Yeah, I should have known better than to let her leave...I'd give anything to go back and stop it. But I can't. I can't save anyone.
