Grant was having a hard time making himself go the wrong way. He wasn't sure if he was so unsteady because that bite was making him sick, or he was disgusted with himself for how hard this was. Going to get Lauren should be the right way. First and foremost.

Mercy's pleas were ignored. Not because he was trying to be rude, but he was afraid if he stopped and listened then he would change his mind. But he was thinking for himself for the first time in his life. He had to commit to this.

"Then shoot me." It wasn't until she moved to his side and spoke clearly in his face did he stop to glare at her. But he didn't mean to, it was her words. It was the sickness. Shaking his head, Grant took a breath and reached out to touch Mercy's shoulder, his eyes begging her to understand. But it wasn't fair. He didn't even understand, but he didn't need to.

"Mercy, I can't leave her. I..." God, his head, he had to hurry and convince her. He wasn't going to be able to concentrate to find Lauren much longer. "You wouldn't leave me. You wouldn't leave Chris. And Jason wouldn't leave us. Besides," He gave her a weak smile, "Since when did you start taking orders?"

He had a point. He had a very good point. She didn't usually, and really, what she needed to do was whatever it took to get him to agree to go to the clinic. It was the better way to handle things. She was sure of it. "Okay, we get Lauren, then you go to the clinic?"

She was going to get into such shit for this, but it wasn't a disobeyed order, there was just one stop between following out the order, there just wasn't the time to debate it.

"Do you know where she is? I can get us there quicker but," but that would be it. She wasn't looking to push herself to sickness, not now, not with these things around. She didn't need to land them right on top of a horde of the things. "But then you're going to the clinic, no argument."

He nodded, his eyes closing tightly for a moment as he felt a swell of nausea overwhelm him. But he was very good at hiding pain. "You can portal us there."

Grant kept his eyes closed and waited for the nausea to go away so he could track Lauren again. It felt like his head was full of water and his body was so hot...

"She's..in an old shop building. Midway to the complex. It's..right by your business' building." Finally he opened his eyes again, letting out air he didn't know he was holding. "Do you know where I'm talking about?"

Hiding things was one thing, but there were creases on Grant's face that shouldn't be there, worry lines that were more pronounced. Mercy wasn't blind to the fact that he was getting ill fast, Dante had been on the ball with that. Shit, she had to find Lauren, and fast.

"Yeah, I think I got it," the only problem was not knowing the buildings well enough. She'd been around half the city, maybe two thirds, she'd been around the buildings, but not through them all. Which meant she couldn't open a portal straight to Lauren, they'd need to arrive just beyond the building and find her.

"I'll get us right outside, but I can't get us in." Her gun was taken from her belt, slid into Grant's hand. "If there are zombies around, you'll need that, I've got this." And the beam was tapped against her leg. She didn't even know if Grant could see straight never mind shoot straight. But she trusted his concern for Lauren would mean not taking a shot he couldn't make.

With a sigh, and then a blanch at the smell it drug in, Vortex opened a portal and then linked it to the side of the building she envisioned that Grant mentioned, here went nothing.
