Andy,
Enjoyed your Walley stories. Our friendships are great stories of adventrures spent together.
Your transcibed berkeley circa 70's tape. I'm sorry to tell you. is nothing compared to the adult
comedy of manners with David's denouement and the loose end gal from JDate wanting a sampling of his ashes. This sounds like real Phillip Roth stuff.
Anyway attended an event tonight by UCLA that was so hip slick and cool. The chicks were all justknock outs, blonde, boobs bursting over their bodice. Still summer so stuff is struted. I found myself singing Sgt Pepper''s Heart Club Band and I asked myself, "How did I survive the Sixties? From Greenwich Village to Berekeley to Bolinas to North Beach the Haight Ashbury Brentwood Santa Monica Malbu nOw HOLLYWOOD. Drive by Paris Hilton's digs every day 'cause I know where it is and people slip me twenty bucks for doing so. I call it a livelhood. I also take 'em by my church in Beverly Hill where I've been a member for 25 years, my kid Baptized there by George Cloony's cousin-Rosemary Cloony's son, who is the priest. It's the location for the movie "Ten" w/ Bo Derrick. Fred Astair attended there when I ushered 20 years ago. And just last Easter I was helping out in the Sunday school and Reese Witherspon shows up w/ her two kids. So I drop all these names to impress my sightseers and maybe they'll slip me an extra ten bucks as a connected guy.
Jesus, how did I survive the Sixties? This is a my lot in life? Showing strangers where the movie stars live for $200 a day on good days. Tom Maramaa figured it out correctly. Learned C programming. married a rich Persian and works for Apple in Cupertino and lives happily ever after with no desire to write any great American novel or screenplay. Content with his Apple pension when that day comes.
Well tomorrow, Same movie stars, different tourists. What a wonderful life I lead, Hoorray for Hollywood!
W/ love
