I had this conversation with a girl I have in my Microbiology class.
Her: "How do you spell pus?"
Me: "P-U-S, pus"
Her: "But can't you spell it p-u-s-s?"
Me : "Errrr.... actually I'm not positive which is correct"
Her: "I'm asking since we're covering diseases this week in Micro."
Me: "And..."
Her: ::blushes:: "Since we use the word "pus" a lot its written all over my notebook, except I spell it p-u-s-s..."
Me: "And..."
Her: "I HAVE PUSSY WRITTEN ALL OVER MY NOTEBOOK!!"
I then died from laughter.
You can spell it both ways and they are both correct. Except it is probably better to use the term "pus discharge" rather than "pussy".
