[There's a pause before he can probably hear a reply coming from another room, 'I'm sorry, I'm coming!' and the patter of footsteps. When the door finally does moment, Colette's eyes widen a little. She's surprised, in a happy sort of way!]

Oh, hello! [she waves cheerfully, and opens the door wider so that he can come in]

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were coming over!

[he doesn't move to walk in though] I won't be here long.

[ah... well, she leaves the door open enough so that if he changes his mind, he can still come in without it being awkward] No, it's fine.

[she takes it.... and her look of surprise turns into a smile as she just looks at it for a moment. Then she looks back up at him and nods! just.... totally beaming]

[he rubs the back of his neck...but then smiles too.]

[if Colette opens it she'll find inside a yummy looking christmas cake]

Share? [she starts to open the box to peek inside... but looks up quickly to check if it's okay. When she sees no opposition she opens the box the rest of the way...

[RUBBING DAT NECK SOME MOAR] It's a Christmas Cake. Uh... where I'm from it's kind of a thing for either couples to have them together or salarymen to bring one home for their family.

[the hand stills as Adachi looks down a little sadly]

I never really had a family to bring one home to of course. But I thought... well, I thought you might like it.

[she looks a little flustered at the word couple but then.... her expression softens at what he says next. Family... huh?

With her loss, Colette had no idea who her family was. She'd always had friends here that she looks at like family, but... Something about the way he says that, she realizes it's special. So when she smiles it's one of the purest, happiest smiles she's had in a while as she holds the box to her chest (carefully though, so she doesn't squish it)]
