Despite the fact that his attempt at avoiding magic kissing by hanging out in the woods had completely backfired, Hellboy just couldn't bring himself to stay cooped up in his room. Possibly because he was concerned about someone he hadn't seen for quite awhile. Not that he wanted her to magic kiss him or anything, but the fact that she hadn't yet was somewhat worrying, particularly with her habit of sneaking up behind him and appearing out of nowhere.
Regardless, he was hoping that, where the remoteness of the woods hadn't kept the magic away from him, the late night would now.
So, he made his way down from his tower to look along the nameplates of the fifth floor. He figured it was better to find out for himself than to air his business all over the journals.
He wasn't quite sure what room number she'd had, but he knew she was on this floor. And once he got to the end of the hall without seeing her name on any of the plates, he knew why he hadn't seen her around.
"Damn," he said, then lingered for a moment before heading back for the stairs.
