Notes: Prose or Actionspam is welcome. Threadjacking/threadjopping/general CR grabbing is all good. Movies are mostly going to be implied, but the line up includes True Grit, El Dorado, and Red River.

Jet had always been a fan of old westerns, and having heard about the movie night, he figured it was a decent way to spend a Saturday evening and meet some new people. He snuck himself in and took a seat, having grabbed a decent sized serving of popcorn. He took a seat relatively close to Sweet, not really taking note of who it was. Having someone to chat with over a movie was always a plus.

Ray arrived a bit late ... he'd seen Sweets' open invitation, but started tinkering on his workbench to kill time, and gotten sucked into an idea. However, he picks his way over to a row and takes a seat, trying not to make too much of a disturbance. By the time he gets over to the seat next to Jet, he lowers his voice to a whisper:

"Sorry m' late! What'd I miss? Anything?"

"Didn't miss much," Jet responded, tilting his head mildly in Ray's direction. The movie was only about ten minutes in.

"It's a good movie so far, though."

"Ohhhhh, yeah, I think I remember this one." He beams at the familiar scene up on screen, wistfully. "I used to watch these with my Uncle, when we had rainy days on Camp Waconda."

[Jet smiles.]

I used to watch old westerns with a friend of mine back home from time to time.

Yeah? ... That's great. I'm glad Sweets threw this together - he's a real nice guy. [he's still keeping his voice low, to be considerate to anyone there who hasn't seen the movie and doesn't want people talking through it] ... D'you think people'd pitch a fit if I got up to grab a drink?

"I don't think so," Jet responded.
"A man's entitled to a good drink from time to time."

It's OK! The CR is still fantastic.

Ray chuckled, already liking the guy's easy-going manner. He was easy to talk to, too - not like some of the people around who made it seem like it was an insult if they got spoken to.

"Okay. I'll go grab a beer. You want one, too, while I'm up?"

"Ah, sure, I wouldn't mind one," Jet responded, starting to enjoy the company of the gent as well.

Ray ambled up and grabbed two bottles, opening them before bringing them back over. As he settled back down in his seat and held a bottle out to Jet, his eyes drifted back up to the screen.

"Oh boy, this used to be one of my favorite parts!"

"Yeah?" Jet responded, taking the bottle from Ray. He glanced up at the screen as the other man settled back down into his seat.

"To good old westerns," he said, raising his bottle toward him in a toast.

"To good old westerns!" Ray clinks his bottle quietly against Jet's, and takes a sip, letting himself get sucked into the movie, and the memories that came with it.

Every now and then, though, he'd glance over at Jet - making it somewhat plain that if he wanted to keep chatting, he absolutely could.

Jet took a sip from his own bottle, watching in silence for a minute or so.

"I don't think I caught your name, bud," he said, after some of the excitement of the scene died down a bit.

"Ray Stantz," he replied quietly, offering his free hand across the armrest. "Nice to meet'cha."

Jet switched his beer to his left hand, and offered his right to Ray.

"Jet Black," he replied.

Sweets settled in with his slice of pizza and a soda, and glanced over to the person next to him with a smile. He didn't know him, but that didn't really matter.

"These movies are such classics."
