Who: Prisoners, PP Members, Visitors (i.e. just about everyone) What: Daily Life in the Prison When: Anyday Where: The dungeons underneath Cair Paradisa Rating: ATM none, will change if notified of happenings you crazy silly people you
[ Since he's not deemed 'safe' enough to be grouped with anyone else, he's got his own little cell, chains included. Isn't he lucky? B( At least he can still harass the guards, or talk to any other prisoners nearby if they want.
But then, he's not always the most social type. And the longer he's here the moodier he gets. Anyone exposed to the prison long enough is probably used to the random 'fits' he gets, but since there's little to actually break or destroy in his cell, it's mostly just noisy.
At least, for now, he's quiet, the horns not visible. He might look like he's napping, but he's just listening. ]
[Kat stops by on her rounds. She wasn't one to engage in any sort of witty repartee, when baited, but she could see how the long confines could be maddening.]
[She's also observant to sense the difference between napping and wakefullness.]
[ He opens one eye, peering out at her lazily. Is it a her? Why don't girls wear dresses anymore? His voice is a soft drawl, barely above a murmur for the time being. ]
Sure. [She reaches into the tactical hard case on her thigh armor and pulls out a volume she'd been going through, about the Shaw-Fujukawa Translight Engine and the development and future of slipspace travel.]
[ He frowns, but there's a curious glint in his eye, one of often understated intelligence. Hailing from the 1920's, quantum physics isn't exactly a popularized field, especially not among laymen.
Curious enough to hold out his hand and wait for her to pass it through, at least. ]
What is it? Physics means it's related to science.
[She passes it through the bars. It's pretty advanced science compared to 1920's standards, hailing from the 24th century.]
It's about the discovery and development of faster-the-light space travel, utilizing ruptures in slipspace to get from point A to point B in a somewhat reasonable amount of time.
[ His eyes visibly widen, drawing out the simple teenage boy he truly once was, as he takes the book and flips it open. Her description only seems to excite him more, and he glances up curiously. ]
I know there are some residents in the castle who have experienced space travel. I think it's so amazing, that there really is a science to explain it! I mean, it's not even something I imagined could happen!
Imagine that something like this is the stepping stone that could physically connect other worlds. The other worlds residents that you see here in this castle.
What type of universe do you think that would turn into? How quickly could we advance from there?
[Kat likes his exuberance. She leans against the bars.]
It really was. Shaw and Fujikawa came about two hundred years before my time; it allowed humankind to spread out across the galaxy and start colonizing other worlds.
It might be a another few steps or another hundred years until we're able to break into this one, but ... that's not to say it's impossible.
[A newer addition to the prison, but certainly not an unfamiliar one. Maine, brought in by York after another unsuccessful attempt at Delta, his armor back in Washington's care, his wounds tended to and wrapped.]
[He lays with his great back towards the bars, little movement besides his shallow, despondent breathing.]
[Washington knew he needed to make the trip down to check on the Meta now that he was locked away again. A chance to face him down after all that had happened. But even then, he's reluctant as he stands next to the bars.] Looks like we meet again like this, Meta. How are the injuries?

How considerate of you. You're like my hero.

[Dry,] What can I say, it's a calling.

Do you have any books native to your world?

Hope you like quantum physics.

And I'm sure I can get permission to come in there to check those injuries if you won't talk to me.
