Stupid stupid stupid. How in the hell could he have forgotten to ask such an important question? It wasn't like he was sidetracked or anything. He knew what he was doing. To Guy, he thought he was very organized in the ways he handled things. Asch and Luke knew where they needed to be. Mission accomplished, right?

Wrong.

Guy threw frustrated glances at the numerous rooms in one of the many, many random hallways that made up the castle that held them all captive. It would've really helped if he asked the damn question.

"What was her room number again?" the question was asked not really to himself but mainly to the two that accompanyed him. Hopefully one of them knew. The servant prayed to Lorelei that one knew where they were going. Because surely, Guy proved useless as of now.

Five flights of stairs. Five annoying, stupid, Lorelei-be-damned flights of stairs that had come in between Asch and what was potentially very valuable information. He cursed them all, skipping stairs as he made his way up to the fifteenth floor.

He was running possibilities through his mind. Battle tactics, in the event that this world had a master they would have to fight in order to free themselves. He mulled over his skills, and which could be useful in any sort of interdimensional travel, if that needed to be done.

Fuck, he didn't even know anything about travelling between dimensions. All he knew is that he was in another one, but he didn't want to be. Not if Auldrant was still in danger.

Lost in thought, he wasn't quite paying attention as he bumped into someone else. Immediately words shot to his tongue, prepared for some sort of insult or a demand for clearance. However, one glance at who he had bumped into brought all that to a halt. He knew that hair and vest. He'd seen them dozens of times before.

"...Guy?"

"!!!" His past thoughts were interrupted at a sudden collision of bodies. Normally he would've immediately apologize for being in the way, however, hearing that familiar voice made him think otherwise. Guy turned around, hand placed on one hip, and looked at the mirror image of his best friend.

"Asch."

"Didn't see you. Sorry." Asch backed down one step, putting some space between them. There was always an awkwardness that Asch associated with Guy, since Guy had known him when was still 'Luke'. It was a reminder that Asch had once been someone else, no matter how much he'd tried to push his past life aside.

"You're going to see Tear, right?"

Guy waved off the apology casually, giving the other an "It's alright". Trying to push certain unspoken feelings and akwardness away from them was certainly going to be a task. He crossed his arms and pushed his weight to one side, eyes travelling about the hallway.

"Yeah. I haven't a clue where her room is," he gave a nod and added, "I forgot to ask the number, though." He scratched his cheek sheepishly, feeling a tad bit silly for being so careless.

"I got the number. It's room 1511. It shouldn't be more than another flight of stairs." He scratched his neck, and then crossed his arms.

Small talk had never been his forte, so he merely added, "Let's go."

Guy nodded but paused. "We should wait for Luke," he said before looking around for said boy, "I don't know if he knows where he's going." He leaned his back to a wall and crossed his arms. Luke should have had at least some idea where to go. Guy trusted that he'd figure out Tear's room was upstairs at least. Though he figured that if they waited, they might as well all just go together. Couldn't hurt to wait a few, right?

"We'll find out." He really didn't want to spend more time with the replica than necessary, but Guy was right. If they all went together, they wouldn't have to worry about waiting for someone who had gotten lost. He sighed, hating to have to deal with Luke more than he had to.

He closed his eyes and opened up the connection he had with his replica. It was something he rarely used, but it was convenient nevertheless. Calling it forth always produced a strange noise, due to the fonons involved, and it quietly echoed in the stairwell.

"Hey, replica. Are you coming?"
