[ Damon couldn't wait to deliver the big fucking 'I told you so' to Stefan. It was a shitty idea with shittier still execution. And he had the gall to yell at Damon for what he'd gotten into. Damon had been the one to cover his brother's ass about what happened on the cruise ship, he'd been the one to clean up after him and that was Lana. Clearly, Stefan needed a little more practice in watching his brother's ass.
Either way. This wasn't about Stefan or the waves of frustration and righteous validation that Damon was getting because of his brother's shortcomings. It was about making sure Alaric knew to stay out of sight and to keep his association with the Salvatores quiet.
He didn't bother knocking on the door. Just pulled it open and -- Stopped short in the doorway, stopped by an invisible barrier.
