Wes had not been handling the past few days very well. Things were tense all around. Not only because of the conflict coming to a head outside of the tower, but the conflicts brewing within the tower as well. He didn't like being at odds with Fred. But she was pushing the Damon issue too hard and he'd found himself pushing back, even though he didn't want to be in disagreement with her. Spike's frustration at not being able to help Kaylee mirrored his own deep frustration at being kept from aiding those he'd promised to assist. And then there was Gunn, the man just couldn't seem to let bygones be bygones. Wes was finding it more difficult to ignore as the week dragged on; every time Gunn was nearby, Wesley's teeth would set on edge and he would once again be battling the urge to retaliate in kind and say something he might regret.
He tossed a second throwing axe at the dummy's forehead. It made a satisfying thwack, embedding itself near the first one he'd tossed at it. This was proving to be quite therapeutic...
