York had arranged this primarily so Kat wouldn't crash the Falcon she'd just spent five months of her life building. )

Having taken a couple days to rest after the worrying strong to kill Elite-Washington, Kat's certainly more fresh when she arrives than the last time she and York spoke. Sye's in full armor, already armed with her data pad and an ammunition case of newly completed weapons for testing if they got the chance.

"I see you're already to go."

Washington is a few minutes behind Kat, still having a hard time relaxing after recent events. Not even looking at Kat right now, after what's happened. He's eying the simulation carefully.

"Looks like you've done a good job readying things, Delta."

"Thank you both. I have attempted to recreate Paradisa's environment as accurately as possible; you will notice a warning sign on the altimeter approximately corresponding to the TARDIS's last known measurements of the powered zone. Please do not attempt to fly into the non-powered zone."

And York nods, noticing Wash's refusal to look at Kat - but hey, at least they both showed up and are apparently willing to work together. His conversation with Lady Galadriel about how everyone needs to stop fighting and work together resonates strongly in his mind.

"Are you both certified to pilot? We need to figure out who's driving this thing."

Kat's also having a hard time looking at Washington, playing it off as interest in the falcon, setting down the ammunition case and looking over the ship intensly.

"Of course I'm certified." It was probably outdated, as it was never her specialty, but she did have a crash course somewhere in her training.

"You know my qualifications, York."

Washington gives Kat a look at that insistance. Well, York found a good way to get him to do that much. "And how long has it been for you?" And talking. So much progress. Even if he's insisting on insulting her driving skills.

"At least two and a half years for me, you know that much. Being stuck in a damn magical castle means I don't exactly get much flight time clocked. Hence the refresher course."

He knows it had been directed at Kat, of course, but this isn't going to turn into a shouting match if he can help it.

"Figured we could take turns at the controls and the turrets."

Kat's only acknowlegement that Washington was talking to her is a slight pause and tilt of the helmet, befor climbing jnto the cabin and assessing the seats. She's built it more of a mind to accomodate regular people, although tried to leave enough clearance for herself to still man the guns.

"Sounds like a good start. Why don't you be the first to take her up, York?"

"True enough. And over a year here, personally. But go ahead. I think I trust your piloting abilities more than I trust someone else's...."

Washington is actually amused at the attitude from Kat right now. He's actually trying to see if he can get a rise from her now.

York snorts very lightly, as he has also seen Kat drive; piloting skills weren't necessarily the same as driving skills, though, so he was more than willing to give her a chance. Still, he hops into the pilot seat with no complaints.

"You added in integrated AI support, right? So if all else fails, D can drive."

Kat finally addresses Washington, albeit without actually looking at him.

"Fortunately for you then I'll be too busy checking the mechanics and stability this flight. If Delta programmed it to my specifications, it should let us know if there were any building errors we can fix before we take the real thing up."

Harmless as York' comment is, his little snort on top of Washington's jabs just catch her in the wrong mood. She speaks sharply at both of hem. "Yes, I did, and if you both aren't careful Delta will be the only other one getting keys." She wasn't completely oblivious about her previous driving fail, but having to deal with his on top of her already strained relations with Washigton was proving a little more annoying than she'd imagined.

"Hey, at least I know Delta won't crash the thing, Kat. Flying is a bit more complicated than driving." Washington snickers, moving to check the ship over himself.

"As for keys? Do you really think I'm that likely to borrow this thing on my own much?"

"Knock it off, Wash. We're not testing this thing out for joyrides, you know." He flips a few switches, warming up the engines. "In case you haven't been paying any attention, there's a goddamn alliance of people who kill permanently with all kinds of magical bullshit, and we need all the defense we can get."

He silently apologizes to Delta and then slips his chip out, inserting it into the control deck so Delta can pop up anywhere on the ship while taking care to run a full diagnostic. "And you know what they say. The best defense is a good offense."

"Either get on or shut up, Washington. This is serious business. Delta, can you get me a summary of the internal systems? Percentages, if you could."

Instead of taking a seat, Kat stands on the edge of the cabin, holding onto the overhead runner to get a good look at the rotors as York starts warming it up. Rookie did some good work there.

Washington nods, moving to get on. "Fine. I'll behave. And York? I've kind of had other things keeping me a bit preoccupied lately... Becoming an alien and having a friend turn their back on you, then being attacked and forced to eat dog food by an enemy does that."

"And that's why I'm bringing the current problems to your attention." The blades start twirling as York mutters something over the radio about the only reason anybody even remembers the dog food part is because Wash keeps insisting on bringing it up.

"Riful is an Awakened Being. In her world in order to fight demons, or yomas as they are called, they insert the flesh of demons into young girls in order to make half yoma, half human warriors. This makes them extremely fast and strong. In full awakened form she can stand at least two hundred feet and uses tentacles that quickly regenerate. She's still extremely fast as well and clever. She'll be our practice target for today."

Kat has no retort for Washington, stung by the guilt of his comment, instead pulling out her data pad to check numbers while she situates herself at the turret. Her movements are easy and practiced, rocking with the gentle motion of the Falcon. Advantages of having practically grown up in them.

"Now this is a bitch I'd like to sink my teeth into. Whenever you're ready, York." She was eager for the action, simulated though it may be. Besides the obvious experience it would garner them towards confronting the actual thing, it would be fantastic if she could just let loose and take out some of her frustrations on something that actually deserved it.
