Living in town really wasn't so bad once you got used to it. Coming back to utter ruin in the castle made settling back into her transient life a little easier than she'd expected. All broken furniture and vandalism. Instead of lingering around the temptation of comfort and ease for a while, second-guessing her decision to stay gone, she took one look at the literal disaster that her old life had become, and turned on her heel.
Back to the town she'd gone.
Today, she'd spent all day out among the shops, but hadn't bought anything. There was just something about bringing treasure back to a temporary room at an inn that wasn't so appealing. It made her feel cluttered and tired. She needed the distraction though, so browsing was her new hobby. That and snacking in the cafes. Luckily all that walking burned calories, or her figure might be in trouble by now.
The sun was gone by the time she finally returned 'home,' returning to the inn empty-handed and thirsty. ...One nice thing about staying exiled at an inn, was having a tavern just a staircase away. It wasn't the instant-wish convenience of the castle, but at least it was something.
