Who: Jack Harkness (gotapostcode ), Ianto Jones (kinky_stopwatch ) What: Jack and Ianto have a serious talk When: RIGHT NOW MR. JONES >:( Where: Jack's room/balcony/roof Rating: PG-13? Maybe?
Stuffing his journal back into a pocket, he sighs and deftly climbs down from the roof back onto the balcony to wait. He's not sure exactly what he's expecting to get out of this conversation, but Jack needs Ianto to know that he knows what happened. And part of him wants to know that it wasn't his fault.
Ianto frowned confused and closed his journal before picking it up and heading up to Jack's room. He racked his brain, trying to think about what it could be, but with the castle behaving as it was, the reason for anyone's consternation could be limitless.
He knocked on the door lightly before stepping in, "Jack?" he called looking around the room.
"Out here," Jack called, sitting on the balcony railing. He could see right away that Ianto suspected something, his brow wrinkled into cute little worry lines. In other circumstances, he probably would have teased him about getting wrinkles, but this situation called for as much seriousness as Jack could muster.
Ianto stepped out onto the balcony and walked forward to jack, one hand resting on his arm. "What is it?" he asked immediately, no beating around the bush.
Jack isn't so ready to jump to the point. He's still struggling with whether this was a good idea or not. He hadn't thought of it before, but maybe Ianto didn't know that he died. Maybe he was from earlier in his personal timeline.
Ianto looked at him quietly before sighing "I...I think you already know." he replied softly. "The last thing I see is you...you're crying over me and promising never to..." Ianto's voice broke a little and he breathed out looking away.
Jack's heart breaks over everything. The fact that Ianto remembers dying, that Jack doesn't, hearing the details. He doesn't say anything right away, just slips off the railing and pulls Ianto into a fierce hug.
Ianto closed his eyes instantly and sank into his arms. This was what he had wanted, all he really had ever wanted since seeing the first Jack since he had come back to Paradisa and not being able to do so. He felt scared and so alone carrying this around and not telling him and the wall just broke as he clung onto him and cried.
Holding him close, Jack gently stroked the base of Ianto's neck, the simple action hopefully soothing for both of them. One of the hardest things that Jack was dealing with was not having such deep feelings for the Welshman when he knew he should, not being as completely shattered over his death as he probably had been.
Jack smiled sadly, stroking a thumb over Ianto's check. He didn't really know what to say, so he just kissed the Welshman gently. "Do you wanna sit down or something?"
He sets his pen back on the page a little uncertain as to why it sounded so urgent.
Alright, where are you?

But Jack's back to wondering if Ianto knows already, and the last thing he wants is to spoil his future for him.
"Better question. What's the last thing that happened to you before you came here?"

"Do you really need to know?" he asked quietly his gaze flicked away anxiously into the darkness.

His behavior, though, wasn't doing much to calm Jack's nerves. If he was making such a big deal about telling him, the news couldn't be good.
