Give me joy, then double it

May 23, 2011 11:07

Who: Marian of Knighton, Guy of Gisborne
What: Double baby joy.
Where: Marian's room.
When: Backdated to Sunday morning, baby plot start
Warnings: PG-13 - R for craziness and innuendo.

It wasn't wholly unfamiliar to wake up together, since they had been taking turns in the clinic and taking care of one another. Guy had just recently woke up from his last spell there and Marian had spent a lot of time keeping vigil, occassionally right next to him. Neither was it wholly unusual with displayed affection; something was definitely about to happen between them.

However, going from that shy and careful development to immediate room and bed sharing was like leaping ten steps ahead. Unless the castle was up to something. Naturally, the castle was always up to something.

A small noise probably woke them up by the same time. Marian was used to small sounds, her dog Wheely would wake her up in the morning when it was time to go out. Guy had spent weeks as a wolf, sometimes falling asleep in her room as well and nearly howling in his sleep. This wasn't a sound made by Wheely and Guy wasn't a wolf anymore. Guy was a man again and he was sleeping in her bed, very close to her - in fact, holding on to her quite tightly. Marian's head was resting on his arm and she was staring into his bare chest with his other arm around her waist, pressing her close.

I can live with that.

She knew for certain that they hadn't gone to bed like this. Had he come in the night? She would have noticed and... objected. Mildly. Not much, probably, but they hadn't quite moved on to that phase yet. While letting her mind wonder and also taking the opportunity to observe how peaceful and relaxed he looked during sleep, she heard the noise again.

Guy's eyes opened, he was still relaxed. He smiled and sniffed when he saw her.

"Marian?"

"You better believe it." She muttered but smiled. It still annoyed her slightly that he had to ask, despite not recognising her due to his loss. Who else was he expecting to wake up with, anyway? But she couldn't stay irritated, noticing that her flimsy nightgown was the only thing between them. She blushed and leaned her forehead against his chest. "Good morning," she mumbled.

"Good morning," he rumbled in response and didn't seem embarrassed at all, just cradling her closer. "When did you come to my bed?"

"Your bed?" she looked up at him. "This is my bed!"

Guy looked confused. "Uh...?"

There was that sound again. But now it turned into a wail. Then, there was another, identical wail. Both Guy and Marian gaped in identical horror.

Note:
This is Marian.
This is Guy.
