Who: Larry Paul, Sophie Devereaux
When: Friday night-ish (after Fred's last post)
Where: Leverage Tower/Sophie's room
What: Larry has been doing lots of thinking and he needs to say some things.
Rating: PG/PG-13?

Larry walked around for a long time after his talk with Fred. He wandered around the castle grounds, he made his way into town, and eventually he made his way back. His thoughts were everywhere. Between home, his last several months in Paradisa, and the foggy unknown of the future in the same place. All he could do was wonder about it, because he had learned almost immediately that there was nothing but unknowns in such a place. And Larry? Larry is not so good with the unknowns.

He had known for a long time about Fred's life (or lack there of) back home, and while it saddened him it wasn't something he gave much thought to. He didn't want to think about it as long as she was still there, and who would want to? But then things changed and he had to think about it. He had to see her think about it and deal with it, and he didn't like it. He saw what had happened because she hadn't told people. He saw how upset she was. He didn't hold it against her, but it made him think. It made him think that some things do need to be said, and that maybe even if you think they've been said, they haven't.

He had spent weeks trying to convince himself of things. He was also avoiding things, he knew that. He had been far too consumed with thoughts, and doubt, and fear; and he hadn't truly listened to the words Fred had offered him weeks before. Until that night when he was walking alone with his thoughts. It was impossible to know what someone else was thinking, and sometimes things didn't hurt, and fear is the only thing that can keep you from saying anything.

He had been too scared to take a chance again, to risk himself again, and he had convinced himself that there was nothing waiting for him. But what if things hadn't been said as clearly as he thought they had been previously?

As he made his way back into the castle he didn't head for his room. He almost didn't realize it until he was there, but he was going to Sophie's room instead. He knocked.

He still didn't want to risk it again, and he was still convinced of things as he thought them to be, but he had to at least say something. Even if he didn't know what that something was.
