Jason knows full well that Barbara isn't his Barbara either. But unlike the Bruce that is here, this Barbara knows him. Knows him well at that.
It makes it all that much easier to just pretend they're not from different universes at all. Because despite that, Barbara feels like the closest thing to home there is. The ones that actually are from his universe, he doesn't know, save for Dick. Dick whom he hasn't even seen yet.
So he takes comfort in her presence regardless of universe. When he's with her, pretending he's okay gets a little bit easier. Maybe tonight will be a better night since he doesn't have to be alone with his thoughts and memories.
A beat after Barbara knocks, the door swings open and Jason is beaming back at her. "Hey, gorgeous."
Barbara tries to smirk, but she's just grinning up at him as she says, "Hey, kiddo." There's a teasing gleam in her eyes, at least, and she hopes it softens the stare. She knows she looks at him like he'll disappear any moment, like she's memorising every inch of him, but she can't help it, not yet.
If the way Barbara looks at Jason bothers him - and of course he does notice it, it's hard not to - he doesn't show it in the slightest. He simply keeps an easy smile on his face as he grabs his coat and steps outside. "Ready for the grand town tour when you are."
He moves to walk right next to her, glancing back to his door over his shoulder at her afterthought. "Well, if you want to? I mean, I'm not gonna complain about better security."
"Really? ... Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Is there anything the castle can't do?"
That certainly explains why, after thrashing his room this one time, he came back to it in a perfect state. He figured it had been the ghosts or something, but well, obviously not.

"You might want to paint over your name, too. Prying off the nameplate doesn't work."

"So, you can't pry it off, but you can... paint it over? Makes sense. Only not really."

"The castle seems to be self-repairing. Handy, except for when it's not."
