the pianoman's interlude

Nov 30, 2010 23:25

Who: Larry Paul and Max Guevara
Where: The Lux
When: Late, late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning/closing time
What: Larry's in the mood for a melody, and he ain't feelin' so alright.

Larry wandered into the Lux sometime before midnight, but not to work. First he sat at the bar for awhile with his scotch, but then he took his drink over towards the piano. Maybe he wasn't working, but he still felt like playing.

He probably could have stayed in his room, but after leaving the rooftop he just wandered here instead. He sat down at the piano and tapped the keys a bit. He sipped his drink before setting it by his feet, then turned back to the piano to actually play something. Nothing specific, just something calm and quiet. He needed calm and quiet. His mind was going a million beats a second and he just wanted it to stop.

He needed to stop.

He needed to stop acting like a fool.

He just needed to be the pianoman and play some music. It was easier when he didn't try for anything more.
