Cake is Serious Business

Ukitake hadn't forgotten his promise to teach Sora to make a cake, although he had waited a few days to make sure the poor child had recovered from his sleepless worry about Abel.
It was obvious the boy had been through a lot in his life, and even hearing the small amount Abel had told him was enough to make anger pulse for the parents that could treat a child that way. It was a blessing Sora had been brought here where he could enjoy a better life, and make friends and family who cared about him.
Slipping along to Abel's room, where he knew Sora was still staying, he knocked with a cheerful smile.
