Damian:
[It's some absurd hour of the morning, even for the Bats, and Damian is climbing into Dick's bed. And tempted to push Steve off the bed.]
Dick:
[Awakens, albeit groggily, at the sudden displacement of the mattress.]
Mn? Damian?
Damian:
[Quietly.] Hey.
Dick:
[Sleepily confused, but steadily coming round, and easing himself up.] Hey... [Wipes a hand over his face.] What's up?
Damian:
[Mumbled.] Mother's gone.
Dick:
[It takes no longer than a moment to register that Damian doesn't just mean she's gone 'out' and sent him back here.]
Oh. [He gives a sympathetic sigh, the last of the tiredness going from his voice.] You okay?
Damian:
I'm fine. [As always, of course.] Go back to sleep.
Dick:
[Okay, he gets it, after all he's known Damian a while now. He knows when a topic's not up for discussion. But then sometimes there are some things that don't need to be talked about, not when a simple action can speak louder than any words could. With another sigh, one with an air of 'what ever am I going to do with you?' Dick moves over, making space for another body, a faint but fond 'it's yours if you want it' smile on his face.]
Damian:
[Damian's not sure whether he should be embarrassed that he's not getting kicked out for acting like a child, or grateful that Dick's willing to let him act that way. But he moves over a bit, too, just to get comfortable.]
Dick:
[Without a further word said (and some reshuffling of a pet pig), Dick takes his arm out from under the covers and drapes it across Damian's body. His eyes already shut.]
Damian:
[He doesn't close his eyes, yet, instead watching Dick, and when that gets weird, he looks at the wall. He should probably say "thank you" but he just wants comfort. He does mumble:]
This place sucks.
