The world-change unnerved her, of course. How couldn't it? Something was coming, it always did. But, she still had her gun, it was nice and loaded, the weight of it was a reassuring presence. It was all she could do to prepare herself for whatever strangeness the Castle had in mind, so... there was no use putting more thought into it than that. So, her mind was free to dwell on other things. More pressing things.
Like the fact that her world seemed to be getting smaller. Less places to hide, more people to avoid. It was a constant gnawing, an irritation that was seeping into the cracks, making it harder to sleep, harder to brush off. This, combined with the fact that her past was catching up to her-- Ed and now somehow Spike, coming back and finding her here, starting over again --it made her feel very tired.
'Off her game' was an understatement.
She was on edge, but her guard was down. Not watching where she was going, only paying attention to the odd thing here and there that would catch her attention and spook her, before descending right back into gloomy thoughts. Wandering through the halls, fidgeting with the lighter in her pocket, somehow even more aimless than usual.
