Charles Victor Szasz was going to town. He would have much preferred to go into town tonight as the Question, but the weight of gunmetal against his hip meant the mask had to stay back in his room. This left him with a ten minute walk, having traced the movements of a certain Wade Wilson there, to plan... He could hardly pretend there really was anything to plan though. It should be easy, pull the trigger and tie him down, but he already knew it wouldn’t be. This was his friend after all, and what an odd phrase that was. He had never claimed to have a friend before, so this was… new. Different. Good.

But still. He should have known.

The moment they had joked about killing each other, the moment Wade had given him permission to shoot him if there was ever a good reason, he really should have known. He wasn’t sure if irony was the right word, but it was one of those cosmic principles. A jinx. They’d jinxed themselves, and now it had finally come back around. He just wished he had gotten a little more warning beforehand.

But that was life, especially in Paradisa, where a loss could blindside anyone at any time, race by leaving good friends as little more than monsters. Monsters with healing factors, and tThis would be the second time he’d used a gun in as many months. It was almost a new record for him.

The shift in the sound of his footsteps - grass to stone - pulled him from his thoughts. No more thinking. It was time to find him. Time to stop him. Just stay focused, stay detached. This should be easy.
