Rose wasn't sure how old Reinette was, and she knew it wasn't her place to just ask about it either. There was probably something proper sounding about a rule regarding that, or just a phrase that sounded more distinguished than Rose would've been.
The three of them were seated around a small table in one of the sweet shops. Rose had ordered the cake earlier in the week, and was now just waiting for them to bring it to their table. No sooner did Rose glance back to the swinging doors, she saw the cake arriving, with a tasteful number of candles lit atop it.
Smirking she glanced back to the table, "Ladies, the first part of our day is about to begin. I promise they won't sing though."
